Love to see how you grow to appreciate the ‘theater’ part of Geoff and voiceplay. It almost seems that you’ve had a paradigm shift in this reaction - being able to laugh at and enjoy the acting and the subtle humor. The thing with Voiceplay is that the music/singing/arrangements doesn’t get upstaged by the visual theatrics. Their music is just as good as any other group with or without the the visuals, but the theatrics adds a whole new dimension of fun and delight. I’m glad you’re able to enjoy it.

It is really all him! He has a 5 octave range! He also arranges and records all of this himself. (His wife helps with makeup, costumes etc.)

Geoff doesn't do a cappella on his solo channel, although his singing approach is very a cappella inspired. All instruments you hear are made on his keyboard with the help of plug ins, though sometimes he also uses some body percussion. And yes, it's all Geoff on the tracks. If you want to hear him display his range up high outside of harmony singing, High and Dry or Blackbird show off his tenor range quite well!

Now that you have seen Geoff's wife in the corner, whats really cool is if you keep an eye on her throughout the video, every time main Geoff hits a really low note she will twitch in some fashion. Its the attention to little details that I appreciate about Geoff and Voiceplay.

So glad you're getting into Geoff's solo stuff, he really gets to have fun and showcase his talent as a performer and arranger. All of these tracks are only his voice, he has the bass range but he does enjoy singing baritone. Love the moment of realization that the lady was there the whole time - that is his incredible wife, Kathy, and if you keep an eye on her, there are moments where she twitches in reaction to his low notes.

Yes, they are all him and in other videos they have names (the misspellings everyone uses for his name)--in the Way Down video they have name tags, lol. Though apparently in Ghost Riders he named the fifth Geoff differently (want to say Darryl). And most people miss his wife most of the video (until she sits up and screams). :). I think if you enjoyed this you'll enjoy other of his singles. Some are fun, some are more somber (like my fav by him, Ain't No Sunshine cover) but they are all really good.

Yes if you see his 16 tons or Blackbird, or anything, Shenandoah for instance, it's always all him. His range is superb.

I always enjoy your reactions to Geoff and to Voiceplay. Others have said that it is all Geoff, they are right. Your best bet for hearing his full range without having to question it is High and Dry. He is solo, no Geoff clones singing. It is amazing! Thanx for taking us with you on this journey!!
