According to the Skeptical Hillbilly no one can be born able to do what Geoff does and while he had to be born with a LOT of natural talent, he worked HELLA hard to get his voice to the skill level it's at today. Geoff deserves every bit of the accolades he gets for his talent and vocal range!!!

I have a much larger vocal range than Geoff and cannot do what he does. His ability to adjust through his range is definitely to a level I have never seen. To do what he did, he had to raise his larynx, move the placement forward, add some twang to get the sound into the nasal cavity (but without overdoing it), go into a mixed voice belt. Then, as he drops out of it on the slide back down, he has to move the sound back out of the nasal cavity, while dropping his larynx simultaneously. But as he starts to approach the D2, he has to keep his larynx neutral, while widening the inside of his mouth for the space required for bass notes, and also pull his tongue back slightly. This is vocal acrobatics not many people on earth can pull off.

Oh, and, I should mention, though the different parts of his range, he also has to focus on vowel modifications, too... the vowels are going to be different for each part of his range. His whole life has to be about maintaining and improving that voice... so, yes, he deserves every bit of praise he gets.
