Keep in mind that Geoff's solos are not acapella, but when he needs a piano, he plays it. He also has plug ins to give him the sound he wants or needs. The voices are all him.

This video is how I found Geoff. He led me to VoicePlay. That was almost five years ago. Still tumbling down the rabbit hole. Geoff and his wife Kathy did this video on their own. Geoff saves his Acapella for VoicePlay. The uses plugins in his videos. He also plays piano, guitar and harmonica.

Geoff sings all the vocal parts on his solo channel, but the whole channel isn't acapella - he'll use instrument sounds in the background and even plays piano in some of them! I LOVE his arrangements, and I really love how much more you can hear of his vocal abilities. If you're curious about who does what jobs on which tracks, VP and Geoff are both really good at putting those details in their descriptions! I'm SO GLAD you finally got to solo Geoff! Looking forward to seeing more of him on here soon, hopefully!

Hi, Jimmy. I'm a passerby and only stopped in because I saw you reacted to Geoff. 16 Tons is one of my favorites. As I'm sure others have told you, he sings all the parts, but backs himself with instrumentation on his solo channel. For a cappella, he uses VoicePlay. Cheers!

A friend sent me a link to this about 3 years ago. I was hooked, found Voiceplay, and hooked again. I recommend that you always have closed captions on with him and VP. His captions are very descriptive (his wife suffers from profound hearing loss) and sometimes he throws in a little humor as he did at the end of this one. When he was going down to that last outrageously low note the captions said something like (slide down to a super low F# 😀) So happy you've found Geoff's solo work. Voiceplay used to tour extensively until Covid shut the world down. So in his "spare" time he started doing solos. Every voice is him, he does not do acapella, every instrument is him usually played on a keyboard with a program I forget the name of.

Yes, VoicePlay is primarily A Cappella. But, Geoff, being a solo artist hasn't the ability to it himself. Therefore, he incorporates musical instruments into most of his covers. Some, he plays himself; like the piano and the harmonica. But, he, with his wife, does all of the editing, arranging, design, and music. He's amazing! His channel started because of the pandemic; which curtailed VoicePlay's ability to travel and do live shows. On his channel, he can display his 5-octave range. You'll enjoy all of his solo covers. Just amazing!

The video description of each song lists who did what. Geoff arranges, performs (all vocals & instrumentals), video edits, etc. Eli from VoicePlay often does the lighting for him. If he's using static cameras, that's Geoff and his wife, Kathy. They have steadicam help if using one (sometimes that is Layne). Prosthetics/extensive makeup they hire someone too. Ed Boyer does final sound mix as he does for VoicePlay and other groups. Other then that just Geoff and Kathy. Check out the release from this past Saturday...it's epic! VoicePlay will be dropping a new video this coming Friday. As others have told you, if Geoff wants something to be acapella, he does it with VoicePlay. His solo work isn't but he uses his keyboard and plugins for all instrumentals, except once he has played the harmonica for us. He learned that when he worked at a theme park.

Geoff does not do acapella on his channel. He uses Native Instruments plugin for instruments and sounds. All the voices are him only. Like Voiceplay he does themes and dresses in costumes to match them. Many many amazing videos in just about every genre. His newest video was released last Friday the 20th.... Song of Durin. It is absolutely gorgeous. He brought back his 4 dwarves from "Far Over The Misty Mountain Cold" and "I See Fire". Killi, Bofur, Filli and Thorin. This time he added a new dwarf, Gimli. The songs and dwarves are all from the Hobbit movies. He and his wife Kathy usually do everything themselves. Sometimes they have help. Such as lighting, cameras, intricate makeup, setup and audio mixing.

Thanks for finally reacting to Geoff Castellucci solo channel. Many of the covers Geoff does are requests from his patrons. As the others have already stated in the comments, it is all Geoff and his 5 octave voice range layered and harmonizing with himself as these Geoff clones. He has over time actually named his Geoff clones: Jeff, Goff and Jeoph (a humorous nod to the common misspelling and mispronunciation of his name) and one named Darryl as he liked that name and is starting to give them their own personalities. His solo channel is not acapella and Geoff has been playing piano since he was 5 years old. Geoff and his wife, Kathy pretty much do everything on his channel with only a little assistance with lighting from Eli and some of the more complicated prosthetic makeup done by Rick Underwood, long time friend and professional makeup artist that did their makeup when they worked as performers at Universal theme park. Kathy Casellucci is the production manager for both Voice Play and her husband, Geoff (Kathy has profound hearing loss now and does an amazing job helping to enhance the enjoyment of their videos for people with hearing impairment). Halloween is coming up and Voice Play and Geoff are the Halloween Kings! You will want to check out Geoff's solo, "Jack's Lament" from 'Nightmare Before Christmas'- it will blow you away!

All the singing is Geoff and all the music is him. He uses plug ins on his keyboard to "play" different instruments. Usually it's only him and his wife filming the videos unless there's complicated camera work. And if he needs make up done he hires our make up artists. Eli usually sets up the lighting. And sometimes Layne works the camera.

Geoff's solo stuff isn't acapella, but he does everything you're hearing. All the vocals are him, and any instrumentation is done by him as well (with piano, plug ins, etc.) If anyone else is involved, they'll be credited in the description.

Geoff doesn't do a cappella on his solo channel. most instruments are played by him on his keyboard with plug ins.
@barbarakennedy26673 ай бұрын
Though Geoff does know how to beatbox he does not do it on his solo channel. He has played harmonica, piano, and used plug-ins for accompaniment to his voice, or voices, when he "clones" himself to show his various ranges within his five octave abilities.
