I moved near Barnsdale Gardens just before Geoff’s death. Loved his shows. Actually visited Barnsdale last Sunday for the first time in years. RIP.

Thank you for uploading this. Geoff was one of my favourite TV Gardeners and I was gutted when he died suddenly from a heart attack whilst filming his last series...his twin brother completed the filming and narrating of it. Such a sad loss, as he taught so easily and was relaxing to watch and learn from. xx

Geoff was such a lovely guy, the best presenter on gardening programmes with Monty Don a close second. 👍

What a super video. A trip down memory lane. When we moved to Kettering in 1967 we bought most of our plants for our new garden from Geoff Hamilton. He gave us lots of advice as well. Though we moved to close to Barnsdale we have never visited….something we must do this year.

Ise lodge garden centre . Barnsdale is worth the trip for the memories + has GC tea room.

That intro music is beautiful and so perfect to fit a lovely cottage garden. Love it! (I love the shows from the 80s and 90s-the romantic look to the film).

I am amazed at the variety of bird songs on this video, which is definitely missing on the KZbin videos today. Stellar presentation too! Reminds me of the old Victory Garden series! 😊

Very informative program. I believe that the desire for the bucolic garden was in full swing during Marie Antoinettes time, as she requested a lovely dreamy cottage. In 2024, Cottage Core is extremely popular as people feel the need to slow down a bit and stay close to home. This delightful film makes the gardening process less intimidating.

The aspect ratio is wrong for this video. Should it be 4-3 ratio? The image is stretched horizontally.

I will probably stop watching the modern Gardeners World soon alas, becoming woke and far too politically correct!😢

Really Albert, you’re going to stop watching Gardeners world because you don’t like people being considerate,caring ,compassionate etc. what a lovely person you must be!

Dont listen to John. I TOTALLY hear you. "And now ladies and gentlemen, we have Dave and Bill consumating their "marriage" by the sustainable pond and Philadelphus lewisii on this sunny day provided by HAARP since the planet is dying because we breathe."
@lesliekendall56688 ай бұрын
@@johnmulligan912 John, listen to me. Are you a gardener? Do you realize that the climate would have to consistently and permanently rise FIVE degrees F to put you into the next SUB-planting zone? So now tell me, is going from say a 7a to 7b planting zone going to kill us all? You're believing a load of crap so they can suck more money out of us. Plain and simple. And other than that, I would suggest you travel more to see there are VAST stretches of land (since they herded us all into the cities) to realize there AREN'T too many people on the planet. Also, explain to me why they all own homes on the coast that were supposed to be under water decades ago (according to them).
