@@SPd.Triple Hi again Mark, yes the entire islands group of Shetland is magnificent for Sea Kayaking and probably some of the best in the world!!! Again, lots of my trip video's of Shetland feature on the channel, and probably a pinnacle trip for me was Kayaking to the most Northerly rock of the UK "Out Stack" just out from Muckle Flugga....the video is..."Sea Kayaking to the Edge of the World", its brilliant!! Well I think so 🤣🤣

@@judecollett7004 Hiya Jude, and thanks for your lovely comments! Yes, It's certainly one of Shetland's favourite sea kayaking locations, with magical features and more than it's fair share of caves, arches and tunnels. A brilliant day trip especially if you get the right conditions to allow you entry into everything but sufficient swell to keep things spicy...brilliant 👍 😉 More video's of Shetland's magic on the channel plus more to come from this year's 10 days up there. Keep your comments coming its always welcome and appreciated!! Cheers Geoff 😎👍

Hi and thanks for your comments. I'm so pleased you enjoyed it and it's interesting you thought the music so fitting. I find it very difficult to choose appropriate music as we all have different tastes, some viewers just want to hear the sound of the water, but without music you loose your audience irrespective of how good the video is. Thanks again and best regards Geoff

Hey Geoff, it is Bob watching another one of your awesome videos. Had to put it on pause just to comment about the incredible scenery. Those rocks and caves something spectacular and a skill testing kayak track also. Take care Geoff. Back to your video.

Working out on our WaterRower to your video of sea kayaking around the caves sure makes it fun. Thanks!

Hi Diane, thank you for your kind comments. Yeah, a WaterRower maybe good for a home workout and a great idea watching some of my video's (thanks) but you can't beat being on out the water around Shetland, an absolute mecca for sea kayaking especially in and through the deep sea caves. So pleased you are enjoying them, lots more content on the channel. Cheers Geoff 🍺

Hi Gadget and thanks for joining me again, so pleased you enjoyed it. Absolutely 👍 so many great trips to do and so little time but we've just got to keep getting out there and giving it our best shot! You have some superb locations in NZ, the Kaikoura fur seals and dusky dolphins were amazing when we were there and it must be unbelievable kayaking with whales 🐋 😀 There must be loads more like Shetland too!

Amazing, its not about distance, its about quality. Exploring the coastline is the best and what a place.
@geoffburke Жыл бұрын
Thanks again David, absolutely, I just can't see what pleasure these guys get, munching mile after mile out at sea without enjoying any detail in the coastline and its tremendous wildlife. Dont get me wrong, I've done stupidly long crossings in the past, training over 18 months for one trip, but that was for a specific reason. Sitting in a kayak for over 28hrs does weird things to your peripheral vision where it felt like you were paddling down a narrow runway staring at a compass the entire time... Happy days 😂 but I'd rather paddle an interesting coastline any day 🙃😃

Absolutely brilliant I often wonder how my Viking Profish 400 SOT kayak would do on these sort of trips. Amazing coastline and great videography 👍
@geoffburke Жыл бұрын
Thanks again for your wonderful comments Bryan. I think in the right conditions it would be OK, circumnavigation of any island would obviously expose you to conditions on some part of the trip though and if winds did strengthen a SOT will be lots slower and with the wider beam you'd not be able to ride swell from the side by leaning, giving an uncomfortable ride as you'd be thrown around considerably more. Thanks Again Geoff

I have recently found your channel and enjoy it immensely, the video content, narration and sound track is very captivating. I am hoping to get back to kayaking soon as I haven't been out for a couple of years. I am still very much a novice as I only took it up at the age of 60. But it's never to late and the benefits will be worth the effort. Thanks for the videos and I look forward to more of your adventures take care and safe trips out.

Thank you for your great comments Martin and im so glad you're enjoying the channel, my video's and little adventures. At over 73 Sea kayaking has been my life for over 50 years and is what keeps me going. I'm sure it won't take you long to get back up to speed and continue building on old skills as they never leave you. As you say the benefits speak for themselves, just being out on the water gives me that special "saltwater injection" and zest for life's adventures, stunning views and amazing wildlife...nothing quite like it in my book! I wish you all the very best in rekindling your spirit, if I can be of assistance in any way just give me a shout. Meanwhile enjoy the channel and keep your comments coming. Best Regards Geoff If not already please subscribe for notifications of new content as I upload them. 👍

Hi, I love your videos but think they would be much better without the music👍
@geoffburke Жыл бұрын
Hi TrollBerg and thanks for your comments, music is a very subjective and personal thing and music in a 33 minute video is essential to build momentum, enhance the mood and retain the audience. Observe any film, news report or documentary, they all have music. However, as mentioned, it is very personal and impossible to please everyone. If I may, take your video's for example if you did a 10, 15 or 20 min compilation video of Shetlands waterfalls with movement showing each location rather than a static view together with suitable mood setting music you'd be on to a winner, but without it your audience would have left before the 1st minute. I do value your comments and will take them on board in an effort to be more selective with appropriate tracks. The big issue is accessing such music which is prohibitively expensive and I make no revenue from my work. Thanks and Best Regards Geoff

Not sure what the purpose of the music was but it made me turn off after 10 minutes from what I'm sure would have been an otherwise fantastic film. Oh well.
