Haha, I love this comment, that is so funny. It's my pleasure, I love creating these kinds of songs. If there are any other topics/concepts/lists you need to remember and you would like me to put in a song, just say the word, I am always trying to come up with more song ideas because they are so fun! :D

@@GEOGIRL I think there is one It's really not that hard to be honest, How about the classification of rocks, I'm more interested in the names of some rocks because I quite forget them a lot ? I know that's Pretty basic but it would be a lot of fun to hear it from you. And thank you for the comment You made my day 🌹.

I was honestly thinking minerals seemed to have a very musical aspect or nature to them, something about their organization or structure. This wasn't quite what the song gets at but I definitely appreciate it.

First we have the silicates which are minerals that contain silica groups and a silica group is a silicon atom bonded to four oxygens and the next group of minerals that we have is the carbonate minerals which have, a carbonate group, which is just carbon bonded to three oxygens Now, let's move on to the sulfate minerals, which have a sulfate group which is just sulfur with four oxygens attached Now, for the phosphate minerals These have a phosphate group, which is just phosphorous with four oxygens attached Now remeber we have gone through silicates and carbonates sulfates and the phosphates too I'm in love with these mineral groups But we're not done just yet We got more groups to go through Come on just say yes Aren't you in love with these mineral groups? Now we're on to the halides which include sodium chloride (NaCl) and you may have heard of this mineral cuz it's probably in your kitchen right now But wait, there's more, the halides include pretty much anything bonded to a halogen such as Chlorine, Flourine, Bromine, or lodine Now, on to the oxides These minerals bond to oxygen, and now the Sulfide minerals bond to a sulfide group and now we are on to the last type of mineral These are the Native Elements, and these include Gold and Diamonds and Silver and much, much more I'm in love with these mineral groups Push and pull like magnetite do Now, let's recap what we've gone through Let's talk about these mineral groups silicates and carbonates halides, oxides, sulfides, and the native elements even I'm in love with these mineral groups Aren't you in love with these mineral groups?

@@GEOGIRL is there a instrument to differentiate minerals?
@GEOGIRL3 жыл бұрын
@@gabeesp9654 Yep! there are many actually. We can use microscope to observe optical properties of minerals in thin cut rock sections that can help us identify specific minerals, and we can also just zap the material with x-rays to see what minerals are present (this technique is called XRD, or x-ray diffraction). I actually have videos coming out this summer over optical mineralogy and XRD, so I hope those will give you a better idea of how we use these techniques to identify minerals :)
