Sincerely have hated EA for more than a decade and will likely continue to do so. That been said and to be fair, the amount of work they put into career mode this time around is more than we have... ever seen? If the trend continues I'm willing to bet a lot of these issues will get ironed out in the future. They really went to town bringing in massive, big changes and elements to a mode that earns them nothing extra. It's not strange that some other areas would basically be copy pasted from last years with some minor tweaks. I prefer this over basically the exact same game again, only with some extremely minor changes/bug fixes. A big revamp like this requires a few years to become fully what was intended. To release a game like this once per year basically requires some sacrifices in some areas to be able to do other things. It's just the nature of having such limited time each year. I'm glad that for once in over a decade I can honestly say at least they TRIED to give us something in career mode. Is it perfect? Hell no. Are we fully satisfied? Absolutely not. Is it a step in the right direction? 100% yes.

I've been doing a CONCACAF Youth Academy build over the last couple of days. My best finds so far are (potentials, not current rating) a 97 ST and 96 GK both from USA, a 96 LW from Mexico, a 96 CAM from Jamaica, and a 95 CDM from Trinidad & Tobago. I've been struggling to find high potential defenders, though USA and Canada seem to be decent, with the best ones so far coming in around 88-92 potential. I haven't found that ONE 95+ potential, but the ones I've promoted so far all show as "An Exciting Prospect" so they're usable. Hopefully dynamic potential kicks in and it bumps them up to PTBS.

I wonder if higher potential has anything to do with scouting with the home country (i play with Stevenage). Also when you play the youth matches with your settings on full potential, you can see the players’ “actual potential” when you check their match performance.

Always appreciate the work you do! I repeatedly scout Canada. I leave a scout there the entire career. Theyre awful at CB and ST. Always generate insane fullbacks. (Davies?) Save game the day before the scouting report and just re-load until one or two wonder kids generate.

Thank you! 👏🏼 you know your stuff, sir
@Zer0Decepti0n9 күн бұрын
Exactly that, thats also why most "studies" talked about in news articles or other forms of news dont tell the full picture. A sample size of a few hundred to a thousand per country isnt nearly enough to make claims such as "this country is bad and this country is good for scouting". Especially when talking about specific positions where the sample size gets even smaller. For those alone 2-3 thousand would scratch the surface of legitimacy for the results. Working with studies and verifying the statistics is exactly my line of work btw.

EA has half-assed Brazilian youth players for ages, we used to have surnames that literally didn't exist and even now it's probably still one name and one surname. Easily one of the clearest reasons why EA needs to add an option to edit a player's name and "common name".

You're doing gods work! The sort of nerdy detail i love with career mode. This would be ridiculous to test, but im wondering if playstyles are linked to player role searched or are just random. i'm assuming the "roll" for number of playstyles is not related to potential at all. I've got 2 out of 5 good CBs with Long Ball but none of my CDM/CM/CAMs have ever got the trait. mostly looking for Ball Playing. mine is purely anecdotal evidence in comparison. Going by my team Dead Ball and Long Throw seem to be super common, as is Relentless. The biggest issue is all my players seem the same, because im not able to search Technically Gifted or Physically Strong for example. I have 3-4 players in every position and they all have very similar stats to one another. Whether i look for Target Forward or Poacher, it feels like the player is gonna mostly have the same stats. the only reason i have any players with a different spread is because ive re-trained their position. a LB to CDM, a ST to LW etc Making a sub from a small agile tricky striker and throwing on a big strong lad up front was always fun to do, now im swapping one striker for another striker with almost identical shooting, dribbling, pace, height, and strength. I'm not seeing any individuality.

Are you sure you don’t have sampling bias on the Brazil scouting thing? You only generated 1000 players for each nation. I suspect they just made the scouting nations all equally random and the patterns you’re detecting are entirely random. The name pool though? That’s inexcusable.

Really cool video. Its a great idea and probably took a load of effort so kudos to you. Looks like the difference between a lot of these values were very small and might not be significant statistically, meaning they could be down to chance. Obviously speculation on my end but if you do a future video like this i would suggest checking for significance to work out if it is due to chance or not.

Every year i am really dissapointed. It seems like they do not even care about single player modes and career mode. They add features that make no sense. They will change up the menu making it look "fresh" meanwhile it might be not functional. As for youth academy , they added academy games that really do not have any useful meaning. They added 13-14 yr old just to say we made changes. We STILL to this day do not have a voiceover when speaking to the press conference or any other cutscenes. It is unacceptable to sell a game 70$ and do not have at least ALL the UCL , EL , ECL teams players faces scanned. It is unacceptable not to have any customization to the game. They wont let the community be helpful and create teams , leagues , player faces and roster updates and upload it to a server so we can share each other.AND MAKE IT A LITTLE BIT REALISTIC AND FUN. Like NBA2K at least they got this right. I wont talk about gameplay but if they had this features career mode would be x100 fun to play. At this point they should sell the game for free and get money only from the microtransactions , cause we play the same mode for over 10 years how we can contact the devs as the community and express our view?
