7 Things You Should Know Before You Play EAFC Career Mode!

Hey everyone, today is more of an old school Geografifa video where i’ll be telling you 7 Things You Should Know Before You Play EA Sports FC Career Mode! I made a similar video for FIFA 23 and it seemed quite popular, so hopefully you enjoy this one too! Let’s get started.
You no longer have to play training every week!
Most people didn’t do this anyway, unless they were planning to do a full 15 season career. You can invest money in coaches, and the better the coach, the faster your player will improve.
You can also switch between sharpness and fitness for each player, which means your reserves and substitutes won’t be useless for 3 games anymore. Training Plans can be assigned individually or to groups of players: Starting XI, Subs, Reserves, which makes this a way better solution to player development.
Try to avoid improving too fast
CM can be up to 15 seasons, there's no point signing 75 rated Mexican free agents in League Two, just to go unbeaten. Take your time and try to enjoy the process, while adding challenges if you think the game is too easy. While you’re at it, i’d also recommend you limit the amount of free agents too. It really does make the game more challenging and fun!
The AI still isn't very good at building a squad.
Having played the beta quite a bit, the AI will still make mistakes with positioning, either signing no one in a position, or having 10 LB’s. You can semi fix this by assigning a second controller to the AI, fixing their team and having more fun playing against a functional squad.
Tactical styles help with this, with AI being able to sign players that fit into their chosen tactics. No more Giroud running in behind while Ben Yedder plays as a target man.
Everyone enjoys career mode in their own way.
Before you even open EAFC, think about what you’d like to do during your save. Set yourself goals and objectives so you always have a target, or your save can get old fast.
Some of my favourite career modes have been adding objectives, you might have watched my pentagon challenge series, or my more recent mega career where each episode I had a specific challenge to try to beat. This kept the game fun even into season 8 or 9.
You can use the new tactical styles to create a tactical vision, which can easily be used with moneyball thanks to the new scouting filters. Why not see if you can turn Man City into a long ball team, or make a super high pressing Italian team.
There isn't a huge amount of randomness in Career Mode.
Most of the time you are the manager of a stable club, so storylines are a good way of adding unpredictability to the game. There are tons of them out there, including my own (geografifa.com/Tools/Storylin...) that can introduce scenarios to your career mode save.
Winning isn't everything
CM can be more fun when you’re fighting for points rather than crushing every opponent. I always recommend competitive leagues where you’ll have multiple teams fighting for titles or continental competitions, whereas leagues such as Scotland are really only two horse races.You can still have lots of fun in these leagues with the likes of Hearts, Hibs or Dundee, but only if you can accept not winning the title for the first 5 or so seasons.
I’ve had loads of fun saves trying to qualify for Europe with bad teams, even a 7th placed finish can be fun if you pick the right team and challenge. Even if you turn the difficulty up one level and pick Luton, you can still have fun without winning any titles.
Create A Club gives CM a breath of fresh air
For sure try out some real teams for your first few saves on the new game, but the real fun comes from creating abandoned, forgotten or defunct teams that will never be on FIFA again. Bro, I’m fifa 23 I go full defence mode, 5-4-1 with 2 cdms and all on stay back while attacking. 2 seconds into the game they all sprint forward. It’s so annoying

Early shout for a Team to Use. SV Ulm in the 3.Liga. The last and only time they were in the top flight they were managed by Ralf Rangnick. You can recreate his career, gettin Ulm to the top flight, right the way to managing Man United and even the Austria national team

My first save playthrough is with a create-a-club. Since they only have MLS for leagues here in "The States", I created my local team Forward Madison FC, which play in the USL 2 division (basically the US third tier.) The premise is that I'm just some US midwestern coach that has brought this team to the top tier through (fictional) promotion. Goals are to learn from the MLS experience and launch my coaching career either 1) into European football, with Liverpool being the end goal, or 2) finally pull the US Soccer Federations reputation out of the toilet by actually utilizing the talent of a so-far wasted generation. So far we're... not great, but that's the point!

I think the reason for some things not being in the beta, like ai not doing great at squad building and there being non of the new create a club kits is because the beta is an older build, as i assume they did all of ultimate team and did some of the bigger features in career mode and decided to use that as the beta. It's probably also the reason why all the player ratings were the same as the start of last years

I dont understand the Tactical visions in career mode i feel like it limits you into certain tactics just based off of what pre set you have selected. I just want to fully customise my own style.

ffs the one thing they needed to fix was AI transfers. I'd even love it if they had a few variants of transfer windows that were pre-set for a few seasons. And how hard would it be to implement a system to stop players transferring between large rival clubs. Wouldn't be difficult

My plans for ea fc is to start with my Leicester City career mode that I do every year and do itfor as long as i want to. Then when i'm done with that i will make a Create A Club with Wakefield City, but also a player career mode, so I can switch between the two.

You should breeze through the Championship in the first season, as I suspect they will in real life. The challenge will be in rebuilding to be competitive in the Prem. Would be an interesting save. I think my first save will be with Plymouth trying to keep them up in the Championship. Their new kits are very sharp too which is nice.

As for the second point I would you can't enjoy the game when your board gives you stupid challenges and sacks you for not signing that one player from Asia or Finishing the season with unrealistic results

I had a career mode save once where I did everything right in my objectives except getting to the R16 of the FA Cup and I got sacked because of it. I won the league, the Papa John's trophy, the carabao cup, but not getting to the R16 of the FA Cup was where they drew the line. It must have been a glitch because after that FA Cup loss I was in the danger zone for a rating for the rest of the season, winning the treble couldn't even save me. I was fuming

I always found Benzema's regen a pain to use. Firstly, he's a CF so you can't change him to a striker which is annoying. Secondly, you can change him to a winger or a CAM if you have a hole to fill in those positions which is alright. But I always found him to be utterly useless for my team where he would not contribute at all in every career mode I got him in. A 92 free agent is just so hard to ignore though haha.

Tbh I only ever play career the gameplay has been bad since fifa 21 I just want it to be fast paced and skill moves to be effective it’s a game at the end of the day not a real life simulator

Are the player ratings after a match still bugged? If they aren't, with things like being able to keep the second keeper up in sharpness I might actually buy FC24. Because not being able to have 2 keepers in form and my subs having 5.0 ratings for no reason really ruins the experience for me in FIFA 23.

It's not perfect, but a way around your players getting terrible ratings for no reason is to let the final whistle blow, then pause and go to the menu and click "jump to result". The scoreline and everything will remain intact, but ratings will be boosted to a realistic level for most of your players, and anyone who really played poorly will retain a bad rating so it isn't cheating, it's simply a manual way to get around the bug. As for goalkeepers, if you are keeping your backup in the reserves he will get no sharpness boosts, but if he is in the bench he will get +2 sharpness for each training session you do with the squad. It's not great but better than zero. Edit : Just make sure before you jump to result the game is over completely...I jumped the gun once and hit jump to result before the whistle blew and it gave one of my players an own goal in the 90th minute and turned a 2-1 win into a 2-2 draw 😂

Yo anyone please help me if u know the answer. I recently made my first career mode in which I start with a 3 star team in the championship, I also changed some bad random player for my own to make me the star of my team. I changed his age to 17 and made his overal a 78. However when I add a development plan to me for some reason it takes ages for me to upgrade and it seems like the game thinks I am old and at the end of my career eventhough I am 17? Please help?

I wish they patch the game up with extra national teams. I know that in FIFA they mainly want to focus on teams, but why is the international tournament with only a limited number of teams? Then they can just take it out for all I care? However ? Either you expand and have a full-fledged tournament with qualifiers, or just clubs because this is just pathetic what is now available from countries. At Konami they had understood for a long time how to do things without licenses, at EA Sports they are apparently still asleep.. I then argue for regular teams with the flag of the country in them. Not every national team has to be licensed, right? Isn't it realistic that players from Brazil or Japan will also be called up if they play well and a tournament is going on, right? They should reconsider that at EA.

Yes you can decide to watch the match every game (on the beta I watched Arsenal beat Leyton orient in the carabao cup using my youth players)
