Thanks for the video. I my humble opinion HPs out of a G42 pocket type or LCP mouse guns are problematic either over penetrating due to no expansion or clogging. If the expand properly then lack of penetration becomes an issue. I would only use Xtreme Penetrators or Xtreme Defenders or Honey Badgers maybe G9 ammo in a short barrel 380. Thanks again.

The Hydrashock I bought said LowRecoil on the box but also stated 1000 fps. Thinking about pulling the bullets and reloading them with my own charge.

My Colt has always been finicky and agency required Hydra Shoks to be carried and they functioned good but I’ve traded up to the V-Crown, similar profile.

What's the barrel length on your service piece? I found the V-crown so lacking in muzzle velocity (at least in 380) that I never went beyond chrony testing.

@ it’s 2 3/4” so that’s good to know. I’ve thought the Underwood’s might be an option but that Pocketlite is snappy.

On your shot that was an error. If you scroll through the shots and stop on the bogus shot there is a delete shot button that will remove it and recalculate your average.

I wish Remington would adjust the jacket to allow it to open every time. The velocity should be high enough. Hope you and yours have a Merry Christmas and a happy New Year Dave.

I did that a couple springs ago. They didn't expand from a 2.75" barrel. I will do it again though, as they are still relatively new to the market, and may perform better with the extra 7 or 8 percent muzzle energy. Okay, the real reason I'll do it again is because so many people want to see it, LOL! I really can't understand why Federal went to market with these in 380 since they don't do anything that an FMJ doesn't.

I gave up on 380 HPs in my 42. I carry underwood extremes when I have to carry a pocket rocket.

Nice test but why does the title say hst hs deep and rem. If you only tested rems?🤔

I did the chronograph test of all 3, did I not? Okay, your point is fair. I did briefly explain in the narration that only the highest energy round would go on to the gel block test, and that's specifically because I've tested all of these before, from shorter barrels, and what I'm looking for right now is the top "factory load" to pit against +P rounds from boutique loaders like Buffalo Bore. Shooting +P ammo is my only reason for investing in the G42. I don't trust non-SAAMI ammo in less robust models.

@GeographyCzar lol you probably did thats my bad. I fast forward all ballistic tests to the jelly and performance part. I've never cared how fast or how slow as long as they perform. Just me my bad
