Welcome to another one of my videos with random geography, country, and culture facts. I initially wanted to make this video filled with wholesome facts since the theme of my last random facts video was more depressing. It runs out depressing facts are easlier to come up with and find. So hopefully, this video will just make you happy by learning something interesting. Anyway, let's go ahead and begin.

Emotional rollercoaster on that bit on the almost annexation of the Dominican Republic. It also showed that even at the time it was not out of the ordinary to acknowledge the senselessness of racial prejudice and clear eyed observation that newly free blacks were not being given the chance to even grow roots as to rise and achieve their potential without being artificially held down. And he didn’t want to just deport them to some island but he saw them as Americans that could stay American but escaping the undercurrent of racial prejudice. Grant is really slept on as one of our greatest presidents and reminds me a lot of Teddy Roosevelt a lot in his ahead of the time thinking but action to back it up. American legends.
@virginiaoflaherty2983

At the end of his presidency Grant spoke to a meeting of African-American leaders, I think in Philadelphia. In the speech he apologized for failing to make the promise of the Civil War, freedom and equal rights protected by the Constitution and Justice Department real for Black Americans. Such a humble modest man. He's my favorite General and was a good President. He believed in racial equality. He actually tried. Not until Lindon Johnson did a President do anything to bring Liberty and Justice for All to America.
