The name of that book in frame actually is 'La Superba', which is not a Dutch name LOL. I've read that book and it's about the Italian city Genoa!

In my experience if I see German looking words but they look kinda wrong - then that means it's Dutch. Same with Spanish - if the words look/sound a bit off, usually it means it's Portuguese lol

i speak both german & dutch and im not gonna lie, in my experience dutch is literally just german but you throw in some almost-english words and add an insane amount of random double vowels as well as “ij” for some reason

The ateneo Grand Splendid, used to be a thatre and was turned into a bookshop in the early 2000s. I went two times and it's beautiful. The stage has been turn into a café where you can sit and read books without buying them. It's really amazing

And the higher levels also have books and you can wonder off into the parts that used to be for the very elite to sit and read! I adore that place (and it's close to Corrientes avenue that's packed full of seconhand bookstores!)

As someone who lives in Portugal, Lello library is honestly gorgeous but now a days because of tourism (due to the fact that the iconic Harry Potter staircase is inspired by the one on this library) 98% of the books are just Harry Potter content.

So the second bookstore is apparently where J.K. Rowling wrote a good amount of some of the Harry Potter books but no one can confirm it. They also say she got the idea for the gowns in Harry Potter from the kids that go to school in Portugal, if you Google it you’ll see

The part about the gowns is true. The part about the bookstore is false (JK confirmed it in a tweet, she has never been to that bookstore actually 😂). She has lived in Portugal that's true. The place where she "wrote a good amount of some of the Harry Potter books" is "Cafe Majestic" (you can Google it, it's really beautiful!).

When I saw the title I just knew that el Ateneo Grand Splendid was going to show up. It's a beautiful beautiful place. But nonetheless, as a reader I prefer to buy in independent bookstores and Buenos Aires has so many options to offer. Don't know how accurate this peace of trivia is, but I think that the city is one of the cities with most bookshops per capita in the world.

I did a presentation in Spanish last week about Argentina and I mentioned El Ataneo Grand Splendid (because it think it’s magnificent and I gotta include books everywhere) and I FELT that it would be in this video. I recognized it right away and for some reason this just makes me excited lol. I really hope to visit that bookstore one day.

Lello in Porto is beautiful, I loved it. But you can't move in there, and it is never empty. You even have to buy a ticket to get in. But if you buy a book inside you can use the ticket for the discount. :)

Hey Jack! Have you seen this video? : BOOKSTORES: How to Read More Books in the Golden Age of Content. It's by Max Joseph. In the video he consults a few experts on fast reading because he feels like he should read more, while he travels around Europe and visit's bookstores! I love this documentary and I think you would enjoy it too! I never find these geoguessr videos very interesting, but this one was right up my alley!

If you like bookstores in cathedrals, you've absolutely got to visit Dominicanen in Maastricht, in the Netherlands! It's a bookstore located in a 13th century church and it's beautiful

I'm Brazilian, but I've met El Ateneo, in Buenos Aires. It's a really famous bookstore around our region of South America haha so it's funny seeing someone who loves books not knowing this place! It's an amazing bookstore and I surely want to come back someday, not only to El Ateneo, but to the city

Wonderful video! Actually, it was a big surprise when I saw El Péndulo; I used to live in Mexico City and go to that bookstore every now and then; even after buying a book or maybe two, sometimes I had lunch or breakfast in there: best chilaquiles in town, you can be sure of that. ☺️

The bookstore in Portugal was the one that J K Rowling wrote some of the books of Harry Potter. I think at least the third was written in there I'm portuguese and I'm pretty sure this is true but please correct me if I'm wrong (also sorry if is something bad written, english isn't my first language)

I was in shock when you came to the bookstore in Mexiko City and I just knew I've been there. I did not remember the name at first but I knew that that was the store/café where I had the most delicious hot chocolate. Being a flight attendant on my first work trip I was so happy to have found this place. So funny that it was in the quiz 💃🏼☺

Funfact: the bookstore in Porto was actually the inspiration behind Olivander's in the Harry Potter series because J.K Rowling used to live in Porto and was writing the Harry Potter series while living in Porto. Porto's university's school uniforms is also heavily based on Hogwart's school uniforms.
