Great tip for geoguessr Finland: if you see light rail, it's Helsinki (Tampere will get light rail in 2021)
@aleksisuuronen5969
@aleksisuuronen5969 3 жыл бұрын
I don't know how frequently they map these locations again and again but the cart is red in Tampere. It goes already but without passengers for this year to figure out the traffick. The actual rails have been there in some parts more than not for some years so that might be a bit of an headscrather if it hasn't been mapped from that time it wasn't moving still.

@@aleksisuuronen5969 They haven't done Street View since 2014 and most of it is even older. Because of that there are now third parties (like a guy named Ari) who are covering Finland with bad camera quality and slow moving which basically ruin GeoGuessr.

Some vocabulary, satama = harbour (if without any specs on a sign it is usually an unimportant inland harbour), tie = road / street, katu = street, järvi = lake, lampi = pond, ranta = beach, kk = kirkonkylä = old town centre where the church is located, polku = trail, actually an urban very small street in the suburbs

Good tip for Finland how you can eliminate half of Finland. Look at the trees. If there is lots of leaf trees, it is south Finland, but if there is lots of coniferous trees, then it is Lapland. if it little bit of both, then it is middle of Finland. And if there is no trees, then it is the northern most part of Finland.

@aleksisuuronen5969
@aleksisuuronen5969 3 жыл бұрын
@@holoholopainen1627 Many factors to that tho. We all know how taxi drivers drive like in coke and people still aren't expecting any danger when coming from that curved hill from Hallila (or anywhere where the tracks are) because it's so new addition to the traffic (and doesn't go so frequently as when it starts to take passengers) and also it's winter so it's really slippery right at that place where it happened so it's hard to break early enough. I do wonder tho that isn't there lights? I used to live just by the road some and a few years back, aren't they already synced the lights to match when the tram is coming. But yeah this is why they do a whole year these test drivers so stuff like this won't happen again.

I screamed at the end of the last round when you hovered your mouse on top of Kontiolahti. The sign showed Kontiolahti to the north and tractor route to Joensuu to the south. Normal route to Joensuu to the east, but no distances. This usually means the smaller place is really close by, while it just points to the larger one. It pointed Joensuu to the east since highway 6 was closeby to the east. The yellow town sign said Kontiolahti, but it was hard to read. The small bike distance sign says something 2 km to Kontiolahti and 17 or so to Joensuu.

Oh wow, I got a pretty nice score of 24005. Though to be fair I would've never gotten #4 if not for the fact that I actually drove through there semi-recently and recognized the area from memory.

I got 19009 points. I got 5000 from the first 3 rounds but lost some points on the 4th and especially the 5th round. But I was on mobile so I think that's quite good.
