Avoid yellow signs with red text. 90% of the time they are extremely small neighbourhoods with like 10-15 people in them. And they’re not on the map. Would love to see another Sweden video. It’s tricky and fun!

Thanks for the tip! I'll probably do another Sweden challenge sometime.

Blue signs is basically hopless as well of you dont know the name of the towns. Basicallt need to be a green sign to have any hope of finding it om a country size map

ONly got 22,547 myself, partly because the one on the "west coast" Geoguessr didn't let me move, so I lost ~1500 points on that.

Sweden is rather tough, even for me that have lived there for almost 50 years. It is the 4th or 5th largest country in the EU I think (area, not population), which means that you are very likely to find yourself on a very small road where no-one (and his neighbor) lives, and you will often have to click for minutes sometimes to reach a reasonably sized town. So I rarely manage to get 25 000 even with unlimited time...

Yeah Sweden can be very tricky on Geoguessr!

Sweden is the third biggest by size in the EU, after France and Spain, larger than e.g. Germany. But I agree just watching this video was really hard to guess where we were as a Swede.
@nahblue6 ай бұрын
For a swede usually the style/flavour of town names is a clue. As soon as there is a -hult, it's Småland or Halland, that kind of thing.

10:55 It's even easier when you realize that the entire coast north of Gothenburg consists of islands and rocks with very little beach. Slightly less rocky south until you get to Varberg. then theres barely any islands with long beaches. South of Halmstad, for example, there is a beach that stretches all the way down to Båstad. It's almost 20km long. So, if you're on the west coast and see no islands, you're south of Varberg ;)

In Sweden the south is flat, and the north is hilly.

15:50 If a place has "hult" in its name, it's most likely located south of those two big lakes that are next to each other. Also, you can ignore white road signs, they show the location of points of interest (businesses, quarries and whatnot).
@peterjernebring57284 жыл бұрын
The same goes for places ending in "ryd", "arp" and, for the most part, "torp". Places ending in "träsk" or "tjärn" on the other hand are most likely in the northern half of Sweden.

16:54 Don't feel bad about not finding Lenhovda (I'm a swed and never heard it before). Orrefors is is a diffrent matter it is the epicenter of swedish glassblowing! (both Orrefors and Nybro is visible in top right of your map and are much closer(7, 8 / 46 km))

Ive allways been thinking about how people act when they see videos like this and see their homes. Well, i lived just 100 meters from where he got placed in Nybro, just by ridhuset. Pretty fun to see my home area here!

I find the appearance of my hometown, (Örnsköldsvik), quite interesting, since it is one of the smaller urban areas located in the kingdom of Sweden. (Edited due to severe grammatical flaws)

Well, you got tips about Norway so I guess it's ok with some Finland tips, mainly the language. Finland has two official languages, Finnish and Swedish. However, in most parts of the country official signs are only in Finnish. If they are only in Swedish, you are probably on the Åland Islands. If it's both Swedish and Finnish, you're most likely along the coast somewhere between Kotka and Oulu (or Kokkola but Oulu is easier to find on the map).
