Oh I have seen those 1890s geological maps, the pencil colouring was nice.

We all start somewhere. I can't imagine what maps will look like in another 40 years!

@@GeologyUpSkill well 2000 years ago they were just cartoon scribble. Hope they come up with holographic maps soon.

What about pXRF???

Great tool for fast soil and rockchip results, but not much good for plotting structure symbols!

Do you have any experience with Datamine’s Studio RM or Studio Mapper?
@GeologyUpSkill Жыл бұрын
No. The old version of Discover Mobile that I am using still does all that I need and the upgrade path to the current version is just prohibitively expensive. Can Studio mapper operate independently of a desktop package?

Would love connecting with geologist for geological mapping link for their Field work and bringing their field work into GIS maps..

How do you avoid detailed/closely spaced structural measurements turning into a pile of mush when you zoom out?
@GeologyUpSkill Жыл бұрын
I guess you could assign a zoom range for layer display in Mapinfo and have a separate layer for zoomed out view with less dense points.
