Can you do it for (a-b)^2 I don’t know how to interpret that in geometric sense
@olbaze18 күн бұрын
The idea is the same, except that you're bringing the square with side length b inside the square with side length a. Now, the area of a^2 consists of 4 pieces: A square with side length b, a square with side length (a-b), and 2 rectangles with sides (a-b) and b. Writing this out as an equation, you get a^2 = (a-b)^2 + b^2 + 2b(a-b). Simplify and you get a^2 = (a-b)^2 -b^2 + 2ab. This can now be re-organized to read a^2 -2ab + b^2 = (a-b)^2.

They make mistakes because you and most teachers failed to teach them properly. You should figure out why they were confused and fix your teaching method.
