Cavalieri's Principle (3D): Instead of matching widths, you'll be matching areas!
If two shapes have the same height with matching widths everywhere along the height, then the shapes have the same area.
When solids have the same height with matching areas everywhere along the height, the they have the same volume.

Area of a shape is the number of unit squares that fit inside it.
Volume of a solid is the number of unit cubes that fit inside it or another definition, Volume is a measure of how much space a three-dimensional figure occupies.
Cube is a rectangular prism whose sides all have the same length.
