the fish in this video are either altifrons or neambi from Brazil. not surinamensis.

Great video as always Bill. Do you heat your tanks individually or the heat the room?
@BillsCichlidRoom3 жыл бұрын
Thanks Arron, I heat the tanks at the moment - when I had 40 tanks going I did heat the room.

How to treat cloudy eye ?
@BillsCichlidRoom Жыл бұрын
Hi, to be honest I’m not the best person with treatments, I’d ask in your local fish store. It will probably be a general all purpose medication.

They are a beautiful fish i have two..what are the funny looking little guys in there with the big lips ?
@BillsCichlidRoom2 жыл бұрын
Thank you Malcolm, I think you are referring to the blockheads - a west African cichlid - there are 2 types in there - the lion head & blockhead.

Great video Bill always a debate about these lol thanks for the clarification
@BillsCichlidRoom3 жыл бұрын
Back in the day they were all called suinamensis - very confusing. The funny thing was, when I bought these they were labelled as Red Head Tapajas - full circle lol.
@bigfishlad48473 жыл бұрын
@@BillsCichlidRoom there was always a mix up with Altifrons too

What fish are in this tank?
@BillsCichlidRoom3 жыл бұрын
Hi Ventura, with the Geos are the chocolates, Tianti & casurius - these are both from West Africa. There are also a group of Black Corydoras.
@MakoyUnggoy2 жыл бұрын
I'd want those Geo's of yours in their own tank with the cory's, they are far too nice looking to get fin nipped by the blockheads, chocolates etc...They are looking good and I bet they have come on even better since you made this video
@BillsCichlidRoom2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the comment, the blockheads went about 4 months ago - yes they are coming on great, down to 4 now though.

Awesome video. Are they a schooling fish? Could I get a single female and have it in a 75 gal mixed community tank? other tank mates would be two EBAs, juvie severum, red tail shark and some larger tetras.
@BillsCichlidRoom2 жыл бұрын
Hi Dan, they are quite peaceful, but get to about 12 inches. They are almost impossible to sex so getting a female unless you know it is was be difficult.
@danaquatics40312 жыл бұрын
@@BillsCichlidRoom too big for 75 when fully grown I believe. I'll wait until I get my 200 gal in the future. Thanks.
