What is the difference in sampling with dt22 vs. mc5? and how do you know when either is used?

The primary differences between the two are: Size of core - MC5 provides a 1.68” diameter core whereas the DT22 is smaller at 1.275” Methodology - MC5 the entire tool string comes out of the ground for each sample interval. DT22 the outer casing remains in the hole as the sample is tripped out via the center rod string.

@@GeoprobeSystems oh ok and in what cases would you use mc5 rather than dt22 as it seems dt22 is a little more convenient with not having to take out outer casing?

@@qerick9238mc5 is just a faster process when you don’t need an outer casing. DT helps a lot with sands
