Having recently rewatched all of TNG I noticed how much they have exposition saying stuff like Geordi is Data's friend. They are good friends. They have so much friendship. And in the past I completely phased out at those sort of points, and it just doesn't seem to work. They have zero on screen chemistry, they do not feel like the friends the show wants them to be. So it took me to get to the damn end of the show before I realized "Hang on... they were "friends" all along! `Yeah right..."
