In humble tribute to Geordie Walker, this medley contains some of my favourite riffs from the monstrously incredible "Pylon" album of 2015. There's only one, Geordie Forever.
Riffs from "New Cold War", "Apotheosis", "Star Spangled", "Big Buzz" and "Delete". A BluGuitar Amp 1 turned up at my local used guitar shop and as I saw Geordie pulverise many an audience using this same 100w amp, I thought I'd give it a spin. Killer. This is just the Recording out through my usual Strymon Brig and Godin 5th Ave bring as much of the vibe as I'm able to muster.

Hmm. These kind of vids usually get about 10 seconds with me. This one hooked me. Nicely done

I don’t tend to watch tribute guitar vids either. I felt compelled to do these Geordie jams because he’s a guitarist near and dear to me and I don’t see many doing his riffs justice on here. Besides my late friend Anthony Angstroms who archived a ton of KJ guitar tracks. He and Geordie are missed. Appreciate you checking it out. This channel is kind of a journal for whatever music I feel like making for now. X

love your playing. there's just something about the 'Big Buzz' riff that makes the hairs on the back of my neck stand up.. such an emotional riff. So gutted I will never get to see them live 😢

Thank you so much! Big Buzz is definitely a pregnant cloud of emotions. Have you heard Geordie’s demos of it? I’m sorry you never got to see them. I didn’t until I moved to the UK in 2011 around the time they reformed. Most powerful band that I have seen live. X

@@FletcherFathoms it was the demo of it that absolutely blew me away.. Something very powerful, profound, melancholy and nostalgic about it.. and his lead guitar/voice lines over it are magic.. The demo of it is probably one of my most played tracks in my library..

@@EndaBuckley - I felt exactly the same when I first heard it. So magical - I think all us guitarists wish there woulda been a Geordie instrumental album, but those demos could just be their own release I reckon. There is one track “Faction Strasse” that was fully mixed and part of the Twilght of the Mortals book package that I contributed writing to in 2016. Killer track.

❤ appreciate it matey - I just bought another one of these Godins with TV jones pups. Love these and definitely the closest thing in modern guitar production to Geordies 52. Light as a feather with heavy resonant cello tone. Geordie forever!

Thank you 🙏 I think it might be. This guitar though certainly not a played in 52 295, is as close to Geordies in feel/weight/tone that I’ve come across in a modern production guitar.

@FletcherFathoms myself as well.. and you played it with perfect effects, grip, and full of feeling... I was playing some parts of this song this week, but due my work routine, I have no time to take this song entire.. Killing Joke riffs I never played too much.. another Divine song brought tô life by Georgie Walker is the "Euphoria"... I have any words to describe how impressive those instrumentals are

Thats a Great sound you are getting there from the Strymon Brig would be interested in your settings if you are able to reveal them trying to get something similar using my line 6 DL4 (i have seen Geordie using one of these in a video) i am trying to split signal stereo into 2 Amps! Geordie's sound was totally Unique but you seem to have it really close sounding here!! Good Stuff!!!

i see you have the Blug Amp 1 behind you Fletcher i did hear Geordie say in an interview he was going to get a pair of them in an interview but he had trouble remembering the correct name he mentioned that they would be Good to carry in his light luggage whilst travelling his point was that he could never rely on hired Gear to get the right sound when they Got to Venues! How do you find the Blug Amp compared to Valve Marshalls?
@FletcherFathoms
@FletcherFathoms 11 ай бұрын
Geordie did rock these for the last few years at least. One came up in my local last week and I couldn’t resist testing, haven’t got to band levels with it, but we know what they can do aye? In my more active touring years my go was a 78JMP Marshall and it remains the greatest for me. Victory is my fave UK amps by a mile, but this is a treat under the fingers so far. Volume with a drummer will tell. X

@@frankschrodinger1424 I still have my trusty Kraken which I’ve been rocking since it came out, it was a review unit. Easily one of the best amps I’ve ever played live and they have been very kind to me over the years. I’ll probably end up using it in stereo for bigger gigs if I get back on stage in the near future. On a bit of a hiatus for now. X

Do you use the signal from the Amp 1 going out in stereo to 2x different Cabinets and the Strymon Brig is in front going in the amp it sounds like more is going on there than guitar into Strymon Brig into Amp 1 then split to 2 X cabinets? It sounds Really Close to Geordies sound !! Good Stuff!!!

This is TRS cable from recording out of Amp 1 into Strymon Brig, which is sent stereo echo at the end of the chain. No cabs involved, however I could mic a cab and send fry right down the middle for even more. ;)
