After watching all 6 episodes I take back my knee jerk initial criticism. I was wrong. Chastain & Shannon delivered stellar performances depicting the two country music greats. The final “Lost Highway” scene with a cameo of Georgette Jones was riveting and emotional. George & Tammy is without a doubt one of the greatest epic tales of Country Music ever told. BRAVO Abe Sylvia!

I was watching & enjoying the George & Tammy series on Showtime. Really loving it too. Then Xfinity cut Showtime off on me. They now want an extra 12 bucks a month. So I didn't get to see beyond episode 4. I'm paying almost 300 bucks a month the way it is for their service & they had such nerve & cruelness to cut me off!! F******

Excellent series the actors were great , wish Tammy and jones got back together actually they would have been if Richie left them alone so selfish , as his wife laying dying on the couch from the drugs he loved to give her he was to busy buying lingerie for his girlfriend so sad his first wife Sheila died of a drug overdose as well !! To bad George Jones didn’t take Richie out like he did with chapel

It seems they did a good job of finding two actors who looked and sounded as much like George and Tammy as they could, but it would have been impossible to find actors who could have done both. I think it's better that they didn't just lip-synch to old George and Tammy recordings, as that would have been very hokey. I admire the effort these actors put into trying to capture the correct look and sound.
