The days when Ago on the MV and Hailwood on the Honda raced against each other in the IOM were truly fantastic. As a world championship event in those days it attracted the best.The different bikes had sounds that were truly unique so you could tell who was coming in advance.The Honda in particular howled through the valleys with a sound that will live with me forever.

OK makes me laugh . This bike needs a starter to get it going. Almost unriderble because of no fliyway to keep it on soung when you close the throutle . Mike hailwood races this bike beating everything that the oposición could throw at him from a push start .

A significant difference between this bike and the original is that this bike has electronic ignition which is controlled by an ECU and as a consequence it needs to spin up a lot faster to start. The original is fitted with a Kokusan magneto produces a bigger spark at low revs so it’s much easier to start. Other than this and the pitch of the spark plug threads all parts are interchangeable

…and it’s not “almost un-rideable” because I did a lap of the TT mountain course in 2017 and it was huge fun!
