GB is a genius. He is a jazz guitar legend - among legends. Many try to sound like him but to no avail.There'll never be another George Benson. His backing awesome. Jorge Dalto and Ronnie Foster two of his mainstays.

I saw him perform feb 77 in Worcester Mass. His wife who sat next to met took us backstage to meet him. He mentioned how pretty my ex wife from Korea was. I immediately bought the Japanese Johnny Smith copy he played that night due to what I heard. That guitar was the heaviest guitar I ever had out of around 40.

Harvey Mason would have done this equally better in some of those George Benson smooth jazz classics if he were to be in that performance. He shined on the drums especially in the "Weekend in L.A." album release in 1979 live at the Roxy.

Ronnie Foster on the keyboards. I think he used the Arp String Ensemble and the Moog keyboards at the same time. The Arp String keyboard was common in the 1970s not just for jazz fusion - but heavily used in 1970s disco.

+karl williams You just showed why you don't need to listen to Benson! Master Musician and Vocalist!!!!!!!!!!!!
@msrubie119 жыл бұрын
+karl Williams You couldn't be much of a Musician to make a statement like that about one of the greatest Jazz Vocalist and Musician of our time. Anyone who is a true Guitarist and Musician would already know Benson. If he didn't and listen to his music he would recognize Benson vocal talent which hailed among the best in the business. Your not recognizing that he is a multi talented Jazz and R&B Artist who has won Grammys as a vocalists as well as a Guitarists tells us you are a Novice. Benson is still performing all over the world at the age of 70 to sell out crowds who love his music. Just as Stevie Wonder is a great Key Board player and Vocalist. Benson is a great Vocalist and Guitarist. He does it now for the love of the Craft as he is Mega Wealthy. A true Musician would never make a statement like that .
