On mr benson's beeezin tour ..I had a friend who' was an usher. He let me in the hall. And before you know it. I am helping his band off load equipment from a u-haul box truck. . ronnie foster phil upchurch .havery mason and stanley banks all carrying stuff to stage. And I was 14 years old. I met em all. Coolest memory of any concert of my life. .I was frontrow center. Mr benson' looked right at this young surfer bum white kid who had helped the band set up two hours earlier. And I was in awe. Love thy neighbor. And love thy jazz players too 🙏👍

We went to see them live at a small jazz club in Boston around 1973 after White Rabbit. It was bad weather and tuesday night early show and we were the only ones there. They played us a private concert from ten feet away then George had a drink with us at intermission . Then more people showed up for the second set. But boy was that a gift.

That does sound like the very fine & good nature generosity of George Benson ... such a Gigantic Artist with an even Greater Heart ❤️ as a Human Being ... When 1st met him in my early 20’s at a hospital lobby , while he was waiting to go up to see someone it seemed then , while on my way out I just happen to notice him. It was so surreal for me meeting my No.1 Musical Hero like this . As I approached him very calmly and in a profound manner , in deep awe ... he was just so kindly accommodating, with his generous food nature , as if to allow one of his fan to sit by him and actually interview him in an impromptu conversation for about 45 minutes to an hour . His mild manner prevented me from being so extremely awestruck ... that we had such a very relaxed and calm conversation . And it reached to the point that I had to go. It wasn’t until I reached the subway train station that it fully dawned on me and felt so awe struck then. As I got on that train I was very much overwhelmed in reflection . I ended up calling just about al my friends & family members 🙏🏽🤗 In that close encounter that lasted about a good hour his whole aura spirit as a person seemed to have carried along with me. The sociological experience that left such a reflection & impression on & in the soul affected the way I even played & approached the instrument of choice ... The Guitar 🎸 🙏🏽 They don’t come like that anymore ...

I'm really groovin' to this George Benson program thing KZbin's got going with Chet Atkins and another American guitar virtuoso genius George did In Asia. It demonstrates Georges' versitality as well as his virtuosity.😊 It was produced, I believe, to treat folks to the width, length, and scale of his talent and attitude towards music in general!😎😎

Popayan Cauca Colombia.

Every track on this great album takes me back to when I first purchased this on cassette back in 1987 and would play it on my tape deck back to back with Bob James & David Sanborn's classic " Double Vision" from the previous year. No surprise that the common thread between these 2 excellent albums is the genius bass player/composer/arranger/producer Mr. Marcus Miller.
