My great aunt maggie worked here from the 1930s or 20s up to his death or so. He used to every Christmas have her driven up in his rolls Royce to go to Westminster Cathedral as she was a catholic. He also lent her his car for her wedding.

Dear Simon- GBS was a very proud Irishman born in a small terraced house in Portobello- Dublin - he received his education through the university of life as he said and you can visit his first home in Dublin and our national gallery - you will see him honoured as he spent long hours in the gallery alone as a child and left our gallery a huge bequest. The Irish people have benefited from his generosity with many beautiful paintings thanks to our GBS - Sylvia

Shaw wrote in a small writing hut in this garden. The hut could be turned to follow the sun.

Really, how interesting. I'd just assumed he did his writing at the desk in the house as in the video, so, unfortunately I didn't really notice a hut in the garden. Maybe it's still there!

@@jeremybarnes3985 The hut (@1:38) is a bit disorganized, kzbin.info/www/bejne/d2rGZHibpriSqqc, but useful. It may have been too cold to use in the winter. It may not have lasted another 60 or 70 years.
