First time watching, I am probably old enough to be your grandma, (60) I have watched this man educate America through his comedy for years. Although he does swear a bit too much for my liking, I still am drawn to him I think because he is not afraid of “hurting peoples feelings” by telling the truth.

This is my favorite Carlin bit as well, and was probably the best speech of his career. There are so many others that are so good, literally pick any of them: - 7 Dirty Words (properly known as “7 Words You Can Never Say on Television”, make sure to find the right one with all the buildup at the start) - Soft Language (again, find the longer one with a bit of lead-in) - Death Penalty - 4 Groups that Gotta Go - War on Homelessness - You Have No Rights - People Are Boring - Save the Planet - Advertising Lullaby - Flying on the Airlines - Pro Life, Abortion, and the Sanctity of Life - Expressions and Sayings that Don’t Make Sense - Religion - The Ten Commandments - List of People Who Ought to be Killed

Again, you have to check out his earlier stuff. His delivery is more wacky but just as intelligent. “Time”, “7 words”, “sports”, “dogs and cats”, “hello/goodbye”, “kids”, “losing things”, and “driving”

The phrase American dream was never meant for Americans, because we live here. We are really living the dream it was for immigrants, like my grandfather, who came here with nothing, and got himself a business and a house.

What's crazy is if it wasn't for LSD we may not have ever gotten that George Carlin. He started out as a clean cut corporate comedian back in the late 50s early 60s but after taking LSD he revaluated himself and quiet his television show to do stand up at the university's so he could say what was really on his mind.

If you want to see another really brilliant stand-up by George Carlin it's called "We Like War". I think it's one of his funniest and greatest ones of all time but sometimes I get the feeling people won't touch that one because it sounds kind of controversial but it's not what you think at all, believe me. Other people have done that one too. I think another one that's really great by him that you should do is called "A War on homelessness". You'll laugh your ass off on both of those. 😂

I love when people say "I wonder what George would think today". Because we haven't changed much at all. All the problems George ranted about are the same problems we face today, they've only gotten worse. Gov'ts that don't care about their people, corporations that don't care about their employees or customers, shitty schools, unhealthy food, all of it. The only difference is millions have swapped the Mall for online retailers like Amazon.

In germany we would call that "political satire". Else i will never understand how people love going shopping. I hate it, i only go there when i need to and want to do it as fast as possible, so i know before what i need mostly, buy the stuff i need and then go out. The only time where i really like a bit of shopping was back in the 80-90s before KZbin when i still had to go into record stores to find out about good new music. There i really spent a lot time and money, but thats no thing anymore in the 2000s.

A lot of what he says sounds like it is ahead of it's time but really these ideas have been around for 150 years at least, political history in the century pre-dating WW2 is very interesting and quite surprising. Of course this today is still very taboo in western capitalistic societies

George Carlin War on Homelessness... please... this one though of course is my favorite too. Most of America know this to be true but are too fixated by selfish endeavors or too broke to worry about it. If i was a billionaire like Musk, i would be doing everything i could to combat this. When you have a sitting U.S. President warn of a "misplaced power that exists and will persist". Then the president that takes his place, gives a speech on "the dangers of secret societies, secret proceedings and secret oaths" and is deliberately and publicly assassinated. No one ever thinks to put 2 and 2 together? I'm sorry but there's a severe lack of open-mindedness and common sense throughout America nowadays. No one believes what they hear unless it comes from a national mainstream media outlet. When those media outlets were designed specifically as propaganda machines. They're all owned and operated by corporations. And have been since the 70s, if not before then. Read the book "Media Monopoly." Sorry for the rant. Love the reaction! Nothing but love for ya! Wish you and your family nothing but the best! Later!

I agree with almost everything you said except the part about if you were a billionaire you would combat this. IF you tried you would end up like Jimmy Hoffa or Abraham Lincoln. Sorry but it's true. 🤷
