Carrot Top is a class act. Over 20 years ago, a group of my friends would go out to see him when he came through town to do some shows. The last time I went with those friends, one was advancing towards stage 4 brain cancer. She knew she was dying and fast and wanted to go see Carrot Top one last time as a group. After the show Carrot Top was doing his usual meet and greet in the lobby and she decided that the show wasn't enough for the bucket list, she wanted a kiss. She was tired but she waited and waited for the crowd to disperse. She eventually made it to the front and I don't know how much she told him about her situation, but he didn't shoot her down. He engaged in some back and forth conversation and held her hand before the smooch. She passed at the end of that year, and talked about that kiss often until her mind gave way to dementia. I like to think she held on to that memory as her mind let go.

He’s a respectable man from what I know, people who lift with him etc have said so. His comedy is terrible 😂 All due respect. He is the exact opposite of Gallahger, who was an insane egomaniacal prick in person. I setup a show for him once in southern oregon. I’ve never seen any adult act the way he did. Diva wouldn’t begin to explain. And the dude was playing a rodeo arena 😂 absolutely was horrendous to the audience. Didn’t even toast em just kept calling them all fat and dumb. making men wearing earring jokes in 2007 😂 the definition of bombing

I'm not a big CT fan but I usually watch interview clips with him because I always find a lot of insight as he carved such a specific lane for himself. The thing is: he did become a punchline as a reference point for what "hack" comedy was, but you can't deny he put the work in. You think about the volume of gags in a show that he probably does and keeping it up to date....everyone says it's probably easy.....but I don't see anyone else doing it for *decades* like he has.

Thank you, CT. You were why I could laugh again after the sudden loss of my teenage son. I took a flight to my sister's in Vegas for respite and went to your show. I remember running into him when I was a backstage grip, And you could pretty much tell he wasn't in a very good mood After he walked off stage, And the staff were told not to interact with the celebrities or comedians. Which made me think, that's probably why he was in a pissy mood, because he thought everybody was ignoring him: (It has to suck being a lonely person in a crowded room). So I saw my chance when he was passing me, I said Hey George how's it going, He turned to me and said fuck if I know, everybody else seems to know more about it than me, So I guess we're both having a great day now. But when I saw him walking back by me to do his next set, I could see he wasn't in as grumpy a mood as he was before. I was only about 19 at the time, So it took me a few years to completely unpack that, but I think he just wanted Human interaction, Not celebrity status.

@@maccusmc Why is there always someone like you that never believe people on KZbin? Do you do it just to be contrary? Regular people do actually meet celebrities from time to time. In the late 70's, I shared an elevator with Muhammad Ali. Any time I leave a comment about it, there's always assholes that will reply something like, sure you did, or nice story bro. It's not like people are saying they rode along with Neil Armstrong on Apollo 11. But then you'll get the total morons that think we didn't go to the moon, or the earth is flat, or Paul is dead. Carrot Top did a show at my college in the 90's and a large group of us went. It took a couple of days for our faces to stop hurting from laughing and smiling so much. For years I've heard murmurings about Carrot's intellect and being a savvy operator. I never rejected his work, but I stupidly never sought him out either. Which is crazy. Emo and Gallagher are two of my favorite genius practitioners of absurdism and physical comedy. CT is right there too. Im actually not that big a fan of categorizing humor genres and labeling artists. Because it's all unique and the industry needs labels and language to bring 'em in. And typecasting is real and painful for artists. I'm actually pretty jazzed about discovering more Carrot Top. Making my Sunday. Steve-o: Me and my tech brethren used to make guilty pilgrimages to see Jackass the movies. SO FUCKING GOOD. We (maybe just me, cause I admit shit) love all of youse. Big time. So check it out... I saw David Spade live the night before I saw Carrot Top earlier this year in the Chicago area. I was so excited for Spade for months at that point, given that the guy is a legend, and he was part of my childhood(born in 88). Awesome show, and it was really dope to get to even be in the same room with him. I left the venue really happy. Then I went to Carrot Top's show, 24 hours later. He ended up being at least three times as funny as Spade. At least. My mind was blown, and the comic world flipped upside down for me that night. Afterwards, I got to meet him, and he ended up being cool af in real life, as well as a genuinely nice guy. I've met quite a lot of famous people, and he is way up there on my list now as far as cool and non pompous dudes go with that level of fame. I became a big fan that night.
