George Chuvalo is probably one of the toughest fighters to ever enter the ring in modern times. He fought them all, never ducked no one, they ducked him though, and with good reason. George was the greatest fighter to ever come out of Canada. In his two fights with Ali he gave one of the greatest Heavyweight Champs the roughest, most punishing fights of his career. His tot-to-toe with Frazier

Chuvalo would've beaten Henry Cooper for the British Commonwealth Championship if he got a crack at it. Chuvalo was just a flat out better fighter who beat and fared better against better overall competition. Chuvalo was also ranked higher in the world than Cooper ever was. It's a shame Cooper dodged him for years.

sorry I hit the wrong button (below). in 1966 is a classic now in tough guy fights! That damn eye injury ended a fight that probably would have gone down as one of the greatest ever. His fights with the best in the business are legendary in scope and number. Ali (2-times), Floyd Patterson, Joe Frazier, Oscar Bonavena, Jerry Quarry, Jimmy Ellis, Ernie Terrell, Doug Jones, George Foreman, just to name a few. Frazier and Foreman, hardest hitters in modern times, could not put George down, and they fought George in their prime. George always came to fight and was a fan's dream of a "brickhouse" boxer that asked no quarter! Thank you George for your many fights and many years of quality sports entertainment for boxing fans!

It was partly based on Chuvalo too. Stallone even uses a picture of Chuvalo during the ice rink scene where Rocky shows Adrian a picture and says that it's him fighting. But yeah, Rocky was a club fighter. Chuvalo was a top ten fighter who was able to sell out Madison Square Garden. big difference

Knocking out 4 men one night? I don't understand, I've never heard of a pro boxer having more then one fight in a single day
@Bestroblozianxxx7 жыл бұрын
Zerlono1 Years ago in the 1920s it was pretty common to fight three and four times in one day Jack Johnson I believe had three fights in one night, but from the 40s on it was highly unusual to have that many fights and one night because boxing became more regulated and there were more rules to prevent the kind of activity that one on in 1920
