I would take it a little more broad and say "Music Icon" - his influence spread across all genres of music. But of course he is a black creative icon - right up there with James Brown, Prince and others. I am SURE Prince was influenced by Parliment/Funk

I like where you're going with this. Put George Clinton on Drink Champs cause N.O.R.E. Does 3hrs. interviews. And I believe George Clinton is the 3rd most sample artist in Hip Hop history besides James Brown & Curtis Mayfield R.I.P. to both but George is still alive. N.O.R.E will get more insight from George than Hot 97 sorry to say this. But still 3hrs won't be enough.

I’ve researched far and wide on the Genius of Mr George Clinton and everything that embodies the Parliament Funkadelic funk. Our culture has been shaped by this man. All that he’s been through, the evil in the music business he has witnessed, it is truly fascinating. It’s so sad that they had to fight their whole life for the music they created. Hip hop would be nothing without his and all the folks who contributed to our music,

Wish Hot 97 would of gotten George Clinton to give up the release date for the new lp. Cause I would like to get it. Been a long time fan. Great interview. You need to get more interviews like you said with this living Legend 36:48 is not enough. You didn't scratched the surface of George Clinton. What would of made this interview even greater if you would of gotten George to talk about another legend that he was friends with Prince R.I.P. I bet you he has some amazing stories to tell & the music they did together at Paisley Park in M.PL.S.

George Clinton was really on it his whole career (minus the crack years, lol glad he's recovering). He made crucial moves with his band at the right times throughout his music history. I found it crazy to think "the underground" platform was where the pulse used to be at. In fact the mentality of not doing it for money brought in the money. Compared to now, it's all about having a mentality of doing it for wealth and money which pushes with the status quo and that's where it's at today, basically copying the sound (although the best tracks do it in their own way). As a DJ doing it since the mid 80's, I feel as though hip hop went through this numerous times and still does. At the end of the day I feel you have to be able to live with your choice in music as an artists. I follow my gut these days and worry less about fitting into the new sound that's dominating now. Although it's imperative to adapt and change as older producers and hip hop artists from back in the days still do there thing today. Thanks to Ebro and Rosenberg for getting the big G. Best interview, so many lessons and gems if you listen with an open mind. Clinton is really an incredible artists if you think about it. Perhaps one of the greatest of all time.
