I am convinced that the reason George Clooney is a true star is because of his voice. The weight and tenor is his voice is just stunning. Yes of course he’s talented and personable and charming but I honestly think it’s the voice. That’s the reason he’s given long or complicated dialogs in so many of his roles. People just wanna hear him speak. Also the smile. The smile, too.

I used to think George Clooney was a miserably smug and self-satisfied prettyboy, an opinion set in stone by his smirky ER persona and that God-awful franchise-flushing turn as Batman. Then O Brother happened. In a single film he entirely reversed the course of his career and showed us a funny, humble, self-deprecating side of himself that has stuck for more than two decades and made him one of the last true movie stars. I just cannot get enough George Clooney, he's phenomenal.
