I like both actually. They are quite different. Both charcoal mellowed. Dickel is MGP 95/5. Both very good IMHO.

It would help to have someone else mix the glasses but it is what it is. Have to give points to Dickle for using a cork. And if you would buy bullitt redemption and others they use MGP juice. It's a good rye. I'm a Dickle drinker have been drinking itt for 48 years are there better ones yes and I know many people are not fans of it but I enjoy it. Nice review.

I did a blind taste test between these two, last week, and although I was able to tell the apart, I found them equals, in quality.

Always good to try to do a blind. I have a bottle of Dickle open and I'm hoping to do a blind against Bulleit, as I imagine they would be very close. I've only had one bottle of JD Rye, but it did not agree with me and what I"m looking for in a Rye. Banana, vanilla, cream, cola was all I could dig out. I was really missing the Rye/herbal note. Glad you enjoy it, thanks for sharing!

You nailed it. I can see the cream, cola too. And yes it’s not too heavy on the rye. I was looking for the one that had more flavor. JD won this time. But I look forward to seeing your head to head. I believe Bulleit rye also sourced from MGP so the mashbills will be the same. Let’s see what the Lincoln county process does to set them apart. 👍

Neither can hold a candle to the Old Forrester which can hold its own against expressions twice or thrice its price. Same pricing as these two. Worth its weight in Rye gold. Wild Turkey Rye is also worth a go as well. You need to get and try both in another blind test

I have it and don’t disagree at all. This was just a head to head of Tennessee rye. I am thinking about grabbing a bunch of rye bottles that are under $30 doesn’t matter the proof and see what comes out on top. I should try thee wild turkey again. Wasn’t too impressed back then maybe things have changed for me 🤷‍♂️ cheers
