+pianosexual Don't learn this way, this is incorrect to how George played it. Sub to me, and I'll make a video to show the proper way it should be played, as in, correct chords. These chords are WAY out, these are nothing similar to how George Formby would have done it. I use the George Formby songbooks and I am a member of the GFS, so I learnt this song pretty fast. (Pst, check out my channel just to prove I know how to do George's songs.)

A lot of people don’t know that George only knew a couple of positions on the uke and had a different tuned uke for different keys for other songs .

Just got my banjolele last week and wanting to learn the Formby repertoire. Think I'll stick with this strum for a while; George's method is bit difficult at this point.

Playing is really good the singing is very good but you need to use some stops or split seconds of silence to make it sound even better otherwise it drones on for too long not that I can say anything as I wouldn't even attempt to sing or play it as well as you do. If you listen to George his timing is what makes him so good, those little pauses mean everything.

I'm surprised to hear that you don't already own one. I've got a Luna Ulu that I picked up cheep and it has quickly become my favorite time killer. It's different to play because of the elevated bridge on the base, but I'm sure that it won't cause a problem for you. I look forward to seeing you play one in a future video. +Lucy Roberts Same, wish he did the right version, and it's about three years late, I play it with the same chords as George Formby did, even the solo, but this version is WAAYYY off. Still, not bad, but you need a REALLY high tuning to make it sound right. I had to go to E tuning to make it sound remotely similar whilst side-by-side with the song!
