Wooow, George echoed my favorite John Lennon quote. When Lennon was asked about a Neil young lyric saying it's better to burn out than fade away. Lennon said he "hated it". "Better to fade away like an old soldier than burn out. I don't value the worship of dead Sid Vicious of Jim Morrison. It's garbage to me. I worship the people who survive." It's such a tragic comment because Lennon is precisely lionized for dying young, while McCartney is often ridiculed for his longevity. Pretty heart warming to see geroge Harrison express the same thing

good interview, a bit sad though. cause he said that when you listen to a song that was sung by a dead man it sounded 'different', and lisening to his voice, he being dead, is sad. but thanks for posting

Simply a brilliant man. Beyond the music, the thoughtfulness, the humour, was his central essence, his spirit, which he sought and expressed. Makes for some odd interview answers, but when you have studied the same spirituality, his answers make the most sense of all.

In 1995, he looks so healthy and good. What happened, is that another devil's best friend took his spirit by stabbing him nearly to dead in his own home. That's so awful, so wrong.

I think Paul is the richest Beatle. He's well loaded - ask Heather...I think George used to give away a lot - for instance he gave his second house at Letchmore Heath to ISKCON (Hare Krsna) which is shown on the cover of Living in the Material World. He also reputedly left them £20 million. And he financed some movies, some of which bombed. But he can't have been all that skint really, don't you think?

Humble? Lots of folks posting he was "humble" If the technology existed at this time, and he was taking questions live and I got through I would say thanks for the years of awesome entertainment! but folks here are saying you are humble, please correct them as a humble man would not have just slammed his former bandmates, as you just did. George was awesome! the fab as four and individually were/are the best ever, in my humble opinion.

My comments keep being deleted, so I will comment here in reply to 666app: George's Australian interview clearly shows George's lips pronouncing the "F" in Faul, not the "P" in Paul. The "Paul" version is the doctored version.

Someone may want to know what's something is worth out of curiosity, not because they necessarily want to sell it. And who knows, if you ever fall on hard times and NEED the money it's nice to know you have a source somewhere.

What was it with George? He didn't embrace the whole Beatles thing the way Paul and Ringo do. He talked about it sometimes as if it was all a bit of a nuisance - he never came to terms with how great it was and how great HE was. And his digs at Macca, who was and is even greater, never ended -consider the last moments of the interview where he talks about 'those people' who release and promote their music'. Nevertheless, an incredible guy.

I think part of why George didn't look back on the Beatles as fondly as Paul and Ringo do was because he was stifled creatively by being in the group. He was allowed only 2 songs per album and by the late 60's he had a huge catalogue of songs that he wanted to release, and the only way to do that was to go solo. I think George really wanted to break away and prove to everyone that he was just as good, if not better than John and Paul and he would have never gotten the opportunity to do that if the band had continued on.

9:52 George says "I have no interest in doing a 3---" and he is cut off mid-sentence. He also says, later, "It sounds like the Beatles.... It sounds like THEM." Not "It sounds like US."

I believe that was footage (taken by Priscilla) shortly after their marriage..they went on the road, I guess travelling the country. They got a huge bus, and in between driving they'd stop on the side of the road to let loose, get some exercise. Elvis would often goof off with members of the 'Memphis mafia" (who were also on the road with him & Priscilla). Here they were fooling around, tackling one another, etc, etc.

I have always felt that too. George never stopped whining about his "place" in The Beatles and never missed a chance to knock Paul and very often John. For a guy who spoke about love and forgiveness he sure carried a grudge.
