Happy 75th birthday George. I miss you dearly and it's beyond my words to describe the influence you've had on me. I, too, have always been a dark horse in my group of friends and while I don't believe in god, I understand your devotion and what that meant to you. For a famous musician, you had no ego in comparison, but you had lots of modesty and you were always real. All interviews and comments I have read suggest you had your feet squarely on the ground. You knew there was more to life than fame and money and you found your place and seemed comfortable in it. I will always love what you represented and who you are. But most importantly, your music and your lyrics struck a chord from the early Beatles compositions right through to Brainwashed. You were serious, you were playful, you were provocative but at all times, you sang from your heart. The world has been robbed of almost 17 years of your musings and your music. Thanks for everything.

He’s been an immense comfort for me, this year has emotionally draining/really scary, and his solo work has been comforting me/his voice has soothed me to sleep, when I’ve been tossing and turning in tears, horrible nightmares. And he’s been helping me cope, and he’s taught me more than I’d never thought I’d ever learn, about spirituality, hurt and pain, and myself🤔 (Even if that might sound crazy on paper) If I COULD, I would thank him, I would Thank you, George, thank you for everything you’ve taught me❤️ (At least, that’s what WOULD happen in my own little mind)

It’s great to see and hear George Harrison again! He was always my favorite Beatle. I like them all of course, but he struck me as the the friendliest and down to earth. And I like that he was quiet most of the time but when he spoke he was thoughtful, charming and real. I miss him most. I wish there were more people like him in the world 🌎. Cool and unpretentious! He survived the madness of Beatlemania and he seemed quite content in this interview to not be in the spotlight all the time. In fact, he once said a good day for him was to not see his name in the paper. He realized how shallow and empty fame could be. Now contrast that to today’s fame seeking greedy selfish hordes of selfie shooters. All demanding and grabbing all the undeserved attention they can get. And none of them have any talent or anything wise to say about anything. Urrggh! The internet has made this fame hogging and attention grabbing culture possible, unfortunately. It’s one of the negatives that we have to deal with now. I wish the fame whores would go away but they don’t stop so I have to unplug constantly in order to ignore them. Thanks George for all the great music! RIP!

Dark Horse is my favorite Harrison album. Certainly the voice was hoarse, the heart was heavy, and the whole thing had a suppressed punk vibe to it. A few years before Johnny Rotten was given a microphone. George was the true teacher in the band and the only one who gave the listener full value every time for the lp money shelled out.

The Beatles were like helpers or teachers as well as songwriter musicians and a rock Pop group to me. John helped me with my depressions ,anxiety, and sometimes anger issues, George helped me with all those spiritual life after death and why am I here questions , Paul helped me with my self confidence and positive mindset, and Ringo was like the favorite Uncle you could always hang with and talk to if you needed comforting or needed a dam hug or a joke. I know this sounds ridiculous....but I'm 40 now and I've been a Beatles fan since I first heard the Songs..."I Should Have Known Better" and " Revolution" on the oldies station when I was 10 years old. 😆 Oh yes and I loved their music as well 😉

It's always interesting to me to compare the gently-humourous and kind George Harrison you see in this video, with the grouchy old curmudgeon you see him portrayed as in most biographies about The Beatles. It's one reason why I always read anyone's biography with a huge dose of skepticism. The books tend to reflect the author's bias much more than the personality of the person they're writing about.
