Today we reveal another serial number! George Harrison's second GRETSCH COUNTRY GENTLEMAN guitar, either a 1962 or 1963 model. I'm also including a short explanation of how this film research works, and I hope this answers any questions on how I accomplished this!
Make sure to check out my previous video where we reveal George Harrison's GRETSCH TENNESSEAN's serial number. • BEATLES MYSTERY SOLVED...

Fantastic work! I'd say six as well, the bottom left portion of the '6' seems closed

Speaking as a Beatles nerd, a guitar nerd and a photo nerd, this was really fascinating. I myself enjoy watching Charlie Chaplin's old films on Blu-ray and it's really astonishing how they come to life, nearly a hundred years later.

A mystery sixty years in the solving! I have 501xx; my folks bought it new in July 1963, in Boston. Since George's had to make its way from Brooklyn to the UK (a matter of a fair amount of time) and he had it in November '63, I'm thinking that first digit is likely to be a 5. BTW my 6122 was the first and only one I'd seen in real life until the Beatles' first Ed Sullivan appearance, so you can imagine my delight at seeing George playing MY GUITAR! Also BTW-I started getting more gigs after that. Nick, thanks enormously for figuring it all out, and thanks to George for his taste in guitars. EDIT: 6122s delivers the goods!

Do one about John's long lost guitar the Framus Hootenanny acoustic guitar. It hasn't been seen since after 1965, and somebody found it. It was hiding in an attic (Just like Paul's Hofner), and the Serial number of the guitar is 51083. It will be sold by Julien's Auctions and it expected to be worth $650,000 for the instrument.

Nice to hear you're into film! I'm an Olympus user myself (OM-4/2/1s) but it's nice to see someone else practicing the hobby :)

Nice detective work, Nick. It looks more like a 5 than a 6, to me but who knows for sure. Maybe over day we'll definitely know 🤔

Now we just need to find out the serial number on the Gent that Olivia gave to Ringo as a gift. Then we can know once and for all.

Another great one. NO DOUBT that you will be hammered by people who want to sh*t on your research and that's just a bi-product of the internet. Amazing job, keep doing what you're doing.

Awesome video! Gotta respect the detective work! It would be an interesting video in the future to talk about when the beatles painted their guitars/sanded their guitars. I cant really find much about it online except for general things. John’s paint job on his epiphone casino seems to be the least talked about. I always wondered if he sanded it himself or had someone else do it. Keep up the good work!

Thank you for your detailed analysis ✨ 6:08 after that single mute double mute Is there a difference? is on the left hand single mute The one on the right is If it's double mute I think... I have yet to see a photo of him playing with a single mute on his left hand. It has a mute While the part is always playing It's hidden in my right hand The body line If you look closely, you'll see a difference I can confirm it, so I'm looking for it based on that. single mute Did you just have it as a spare?
