George wet on to be inducted into the Roc n' Roll hall of fame as a solo artist. He had over 20 top 40 solo hits. The beauty of the Beatles is that they had three lead singers and three composers . Ringo, while not as gifted as the others, also composed a couple top 10 hits. I don't think you will ever see another group like them again.

It's funny, George was in the greatest musical group in the world, starred in five movies (alright, Yellow Submarine is more like a cameo),they broke up, had 20 number ones (in The U.S.), released the magnificent "All Things Must Pass", started the first charity concert, "The Concert For Bangladesh", all before the age of thirty. That's what I call a jam packed life.

Dhani's said his father was his 'best friend' and Heather Mills (blech) wrote that when she met George and Olivia for the first time they both spoke of their son constantly. So, I'm sure George was quite proud of his son, for many reasons, and wasn't really trying to cut him down. You see a picture of them together and you can tell he loved that boy so much.

@Mardawar Correct..his speaking voice is nothing like dads.. English regional accents and social differences might be hard for some for some overseas folks to pick up on. But George had a working class Liverpool accent..and it went quite deep and nasal at times . Dhani sounds very middle class and flatter with very little trace of any regional accent. See also Jason Connery son of Sean..no trace of any remotely like his dads voice.

@blackmore4 No, Day In The Life, the calliope sounds on Mr. Kite, and the animal sounds on Good Morning Good Morning were the most groundbreaking moments on Pepper. Within Without You is just George droning over a bunch of Hindus playing sitars (he had already done it on Revolver). Harrison said in numerous interviews he was bored during the making of Pepper - it was the beginning of his desire to quit the band- and his boredom comes through here. It was the reason CDs were invented- hit skip.
