The Whills, as single celled organisms, form a network. They permeate the Universe. They are in all life forms and in all environments. By existing everywhere and feeding off the positive energy of the Living Force, they form a HIVE MIND. They are connected through the Cosmic Force and, being everywhere, have an awareness of EVERYTHING. Each individual Whill has the awareness of the entire network. Due to their dependance on the Living Force, they influence life toward sustainable balance. All the individual, single cell Whills are connected as the mind of the Universe, like the mind of God. They know all. The bad ones are called the CHAONS (kay - ons). They feed off the negative engergy of the Force, the Dark Side. You're welcome. ; )

Honestly I’ve always like the idea of midichlorians and that it *does* give some explanation to the Force while still leaving a lot of mystery. As for the Whills, again, I like that there is some degree of science tied into it, but the explanation is still broad and cryptic at the same time.

Arthur C Clarke said any sufficiently advanced technology should be indistinguishable from magic, and in a universe with such advanced technology there would no doubt be scientific explanations for how certain aspects of the Force actually worked intertwined with the rest of the religious aspects of being a Jedi/Sith, and to most people in the galaxy the Force itself is barely known or talked about past "the Jedi use the force" if they even think about the Jedi at all, so to them it's still very mysterious, but to the audience we have just enough info to keep capturing our attention without revealing too much

Yes I guess it is, I've always looked at it as the "Whills" are but one personification of the living and cosmic Force. Much like how "The Son, The Father and The Daughter took on a specific form in the Realm of Mortis. If you have a All-Knowing God, who is still beyond Mortals own comprehension to fully understand, and who and ofwhich Wills the behaviour of every subatomic particle in the Universe. Just like Positive and Negative Atoms, the Energy that is known of to be God (and George did say that *The Force* is basically God), then the Positive and Negative can also been seen as "The Lightside" and "The Darkside" of the Force. *Good and Evil*, God and Devil. If only George Lucas could have been allowed to fully explain what he was talking about, translate it in such a way that Fans wouldn't have misunderstood it in purely the "Biological" sense; because I don't beloved he meant it that way at all.

@@mortalitydoesstuff8965 Yes, that is exactly how most Human Beings are in the world are today. The Real "Knowledge" if things have been kept hidden from the people, this is a "Esoteric Knowledge", that ancient humans. Possibly even the Pharohs knew of. Today the only "Science" taught to people is a very basically one, it is "Academic Science". So George Lucas is really ahead of his time if you absolutely think about it. The Force is not known to most people in the Galaxy Far, Far Away. Only stories told, just like with the Jedi. This reflects our World as it is today, where people in Society are kept down in a sense, kept docile, unaware of the Real "Science/Magic" that was once practiced in the ancient times. The people are really the Victims, they are kept Distracted by simple "Worldly Pleasures", such as Material things like our smartphones, reality TV and social media. Those are meant to keep the people stuck in a cycle of Social Drama, Domestic Relationships, Infidelity, which decays the mind and soul and feeds the "Ego". This is all done so that we don't focus on the bigger picture of this world. But ever notice how we as people always enjoy "Mythology" in Fantasy and Stories? Because those are the Real important things, that which exercise and expand our minds; help us Escape how messed up and damage Society has become today. Mythology and Fantasy help expand our Imagination, and in many ways our Subconscious. The Elite don't want that, they want us kept down, docile so they we are much easier to "Control", for a *Free-Minded* thinker is a Dangerous Individual to the Elite. The Force is "God". We are ALL in touch with God, the Force runs through everything. George Lucas knows this, he is a great thinker, a true "Spiritual Individual". Many of us Fans failed him by not being "Open-Minded" to the very ideas he was exploring. Many doubted and even mocked George Lucas, made him feel disheartened, which was why he let it all go in the end. How sad. One day this Human Race is going to have to Wake Up, FULLY, and come together to face Evil in our World, because Darkness is slowly rising just look at everything going on right now in our world. I don't want to get into it and I'm straying too far off the subject right now, but I'm just saying. We have to strive to be more like the Jedi, to practice compassion and love, but to also be WARRIORS when needed and to fight Evil, Together when the time comes, and it is coming.

@@RaikenXionYeah. The story was gonna be much deeper. Because in reality, we’re all connected. When stars blow up and dies, they become a brand new start again. Cells do the exact same thing. What’s above, so below. Which explains that we’re life itself. And it would be cool to see Luke travel into the Microverse with cell like planets where he can fly into an explore. He can meet different creatures in the micro galaxy and learn more about the force. Also, having Darth Pleaguis return as the the main bad guy would be amazing . So many ideas. And I agree, Lucas made no sense with the biology part. But he was clearly onto something. Maybe in the prequels, Obi-Wan, Qui Gon and co didn’t understand what the Midi-Chlorians truly were. But having Luke discovering their true nature and how biology is connected in a spiritual sense can help fans appreciate the concept. I really loved the idea of it.

The Clone Wars does not go into the Whills at all. The Force Priestesses in The Clone Wars were not the Whills, were never intended to be. They were once living beings who studied the Force and the Whills who came and went before the Jedi, who learned how to transfer their personas into the Cosmic Force, as Qui Gon, Obi Wan and Yoda eventually learned to do.... thanks to Qui Gon encountering a Shaman of the Whills.... from the Order of the Whills, who the Force Priestesses once were, when alive.

And just to think, in the Lucas idea for the sequels. We could have gotten a force ghost Obi-Wan telling Luke about the Whills and how to meet them. This can be an awesome adventure tail where Luke, Leia, Han, Chewie and crew and maybe even Luke’s kids and wife if they kept that canon will travel with him into the microverse to meet the different alien microscopic creatures and the different cell worlds. I love the sequels 7 and 8 and the Rogue One and Solo films but that was low for the Fandom to do that shit and George needed to be working with Disney from the start on it all. But JJ AND RIAN honored the saga with the 7 and 8 films and Lucasfilm\Disney needs to make a ACTUAL PROPER EPISODE 9, RETCONNING RISE OF SKWALKERS EVENTS ENTIRELY, AND PROPERLY MATCH THE PREQUELS AND ORIGINALS WITH THE SEQUELS!

I personally never had a problem with the midi-chlorians idea from George Lucas. In my opinion I think it would have been awesome for Anakin to walk into a youngling classroom or lesson where they are teaching about the midi-chlorians. Personally I really wish George wasn't so touchy about things. There are very many fans out there that love his work regardless of what anyone else says
@RaikenXion
@RaikenXion Жыл бұрын
Trouble is those particular Fans get shouted down and very often not heard by the rest of the Fans out there who never liked George's ideas, or atleast were simply not open-minded enough to George's ideas around the whole midiclorians element. If you "Create" a Story, or piece of music, a New Sound for a song which most people are simply not ready to comprehend, it can be incredibly disheartening. Do you remember the scene in the 1980s sci fi movie - "Back to the Future" where Marty McFly is playing the 1950s rock song - "johnny Be Good", and the crowd of young 1950s teenagers (or atleast 50s young people lol) are all dancing to it and enjoying themselves? They're basically rocking to the music he is playing, until Mcfly get's so much in that zone, his playing of that song becomes so creative, so "individual", his sound of that song and the overall music he is playing and "rockin" out to on the electric guitar becomes too much for that audience; even the bandmates he's playing with, and Everyone in that hall just goes silent, watching in absolute puzzlement, dumfoundness at the "new sound" he had created before them lol. in that single moment Marty McFly was kind of alone, no one was with him, because the crowd of youngster simply could not comprehend the music he was playing at that point. But then, as Marty looks at them all, and realizes how far he had pushed it in that moment, he simply says - "I guess you guys aren't ready for that, yet. But your kids are gona love it." Ha! I just love that scene. This is how some truly exceptional creative people are in the world are. They "Create" something that is so profound, original, compelling, amazing even, but sometimes their ideas, or views can often end up being too much for people to, "embrace" and understand, for it is Human Nature to be scared or even shun what you cannot understand. Look at the Impressionist painter Vincent Van Gogh, his best works were truly not recognized in his time. Van Gogh was spurned by the woman he loved, and it affected him so deeply he decided to paint Sunflowers that were wilting. This was frowned upon by the old expressionist masters, who judged Van Gogh's sunflowers painting as hideous, ugly. What they failed to open their mind to was in Van Gogh's work, the wilted sunflowers were a expression of how his heart was broken, the painting said alot more than they knew or cared to understand; it was a exploration of how he felt inside, the baring of his soul. Then centuries later look at how famous that painting and his other works became, the wilted sunflowers painting is considered priceless now; what's really sad about it is Vincent Van Gogh made no commission, no real money from that painting in his time. I guess i'm straying abit too far from the main subject here, George Lucas' main target audience for his *Star Wars* Films was always meant to be kids. Lucas has openly admitted his whole concept of "the Force" was not only to help move the plot along, especially in his prequels movies concerning the whole origin of Anakin Skywalker being the Chosen One; but also that Lucas was actually trying to subconsciously awaken a sense of Spirituality unto the young audience. This is healthy and very positive in the Star Wars experience, and kids need this more than ever in this dark era we're all stuck in right now, where some seriously messed up and evil agenda are being pushed in alot of Children's Entertainment, stories and Education. So you have to try and understand when you're someone who is ultimately trying to spread something that is wholesome, good, timeless even, and most people simply don't appreciate what you're trying to do, to such a degree many even belittle and attack you for it; that's going to hurt, it's going to make you really kind of give up. That's kind of what George ended up doing, he just focused on his "Family" and the Real, tangible things that mattered most to him, remember what he once said in a interview - "Why would I make anymore, when everybody yells at you all the time and says what a terrible person you are?" I was in high-school when the prequels were being made, i was excited what little i could find out about those movies. I remember going on the computer at lunchtime trying to look up any scrap of info i could about "Episode 2", this was before the official title of the Film was made public. I didn't even have my own email address at that time haha, let alone be aware of just how much hate and criticism he was receiving for The Phantom Menace back then. But if i could have let George Lucas know how i felt about those movies at that time, it was a really cool and amazing time for me. I had grown up with the 97/98 "Special Editions" of his OT. I wasn't lucky enough to have been alive when *Star Wars* blew up across the world way back in 1977. Imagine how George must have felt, he's putting his heart and soul into a story thats took him most his life to complete, taking on way too much responsibility in Writing, Producing and Directing a whole new Trilogy of Films, trying to tell the story exact his way. I think the kid and teenager fans such as myself during that time, our voices were not heard enough, it was the older fans (NOT ALL) who really kind of drowned us out, people like Simon Pegg who really spread some nastiness toward Lucas's prequel movies. i'll admit they had some flaws, he could have done with simply allowing someone else to write the screenplay for his prequel movies, and produced, and he should have just directed those movies, not took on so much responsibility; but i still commend Lucas for doing so. i still love the prequel movies even though i can say they're not 100% perfect, they're far from bad too. Just a lot of fans at that time were quite unfair toward George Lucas, maybe alot now are quite sorry for their actions. I'm not saying George Lucas is a saint either, he should not have eradicated his original negatives, and film reels for his Original trilogy, no matter how bad it may look compared to the digital quality of Filmmaking technology we have today, but i guess that was also down to his own treatment by the Hollywood studio, how they cut up and held much creative control over his 1977 theatrical cut of what became known as - "A New Hope". Still a exceptionally Creative and gifted individual i will say. Lucas brought something positive into all of our lives.

@@RaikenXionYes!! This is such an amazing comment. I love it! Lucas was too ahead of his time. He knew that life exists within the microverse and macroverse. What’s above, so below. He wanted to explore a microbotic space world where Luke travels in a ship to different cell planets. The Whills are god/the force itself. Because in space, when a star dies, it goes through the same transition as when cell dies too. Both die and become reincarnated into a younger stage again. The micro and macro are both mirrors of each other. Our eyes looks like a galaxy. Everything is connected. And people weren’t ready for that. That’s who I call, someone who is ahead of their time. And I agree with you about the Marty scene. He was producing sounds that was 30 years ahead of their time. That’s how I look back at GOATS like Jimi Hendrix, James Brown, Gary Numan, Kraftwerk and such. Nobody in the early 70s weren’t ready for electronic music that would soon become a norm of today. And I agree without about being lonely. When you’re too ahead of the crowd, you feel outcastes as people don’t understand your ideas or concepts until many years into the future. Those same people realize you were the future and they feel ashamed for not understanding you. I used to be like that as a kid. I was already coming up with innovative ideas. I would get into ideas and concepts before they got popular. I grew up watching One Piece as a child on Fox Box in 2003, I got made fun or laughed at. People told me the show looks like crap. Now it’s 2024, and everyone are fans of the show. I was like that with comics, Sonic and many other things. People made fun of me for liking stuff but now it’s became the norm. I really appreciate you for posting this comment. It really put a smile on my face and it shows that the world is very slow. Your kind can be 20-30 years into the future while others stay in their respective time. It’s insane how it’s like that sometimes.

@@RaikenXionI love the Prequels because of how influential the concepts were. Lucas introduced the staff lightsaber which was used by Darth Maul. Using acrobatics and martial arts Bo staff fighting styles. It was so unique. The character was so well designed. The droids, the Naboo Fighters, Qui Goj Jinn, the concept of the Whills, the MIDI-Cholrians. Introducing dual light sabers. There were so much concepts introduced and I believe people weren’t ready for it. And c’mon, he gave us Duel of the Fates. One of the most iconic Star Wars music piece till this day. Everyone fell in love with the Episode 1 soundtrack. The OG haters from the 70s knows the prequels is what put Star Wars as a mainstream culture instead of being niche. The stories weren’t truly fleshed out back in the 70s-80s run. The extended universe books helped out but we didn’t have media at that time. And Episode 1 spun us a new world. We had loads of video games, cartoons and movie content.

I don't have any problem with his explanation of the force or the role of the whills. I find it interesting and a reasonable explanation for what guided his storytelling decisions. I don't know that I would necessarily want it to all be explained in the sequel trilogy, as I don't see how it would assist the story and it takes away some of the mystery of the force. But then again I didn't really care for episode 1 & 2 until I saw episode 3, so maybe if George got to tell his story his way without everyone trying to impose their ideas and opinions upon him, maybe it would have been amazing. I always thought one day George would go back to the prequels and add in all the stuff that he originally wanted to have in there, just like he did for episodes 4-6. I really wish I could have seen his story told the way that he wanted it to be told.

And that's absolutely what we should have gotten, he wrote 3 treatments for his Sequel Trilogy, 2 ofwhich he talked about. Disney bosses betrayed Lucas, and so did his longtime friend in the filmmaking industry Kathleen Kennedy. She was meant to "protect" his brand from Disney's greed. She was meant to convince and ensure Bob Iger and Alan Horn agreed to Faithfully Adapt one of Lucas's story treatments, into live-action Sequel Trilogy Films. Mrs Kennedy did not do that, instead she chose to even side with Bob Iger and Alan Horn into discarding his treatments and not even using them. It's quite sad how it all turned out.

I don’t think it’s confusing. In life, we live between the macroverse (space) and the microverse (cell world). What’s above, so below. When a star dies, a new one is born. When a cell dies, a new one is born. Basically, both worlds are parallel. It’s all metaphysical and spiritual when you think about it. Luke was supposed to go into the micro space world and explore the cell planets. He meets various microscopic alien creatures during his quest. The Whills are basically the force itself. They live everywhere. In your body, in space too… They’re basically god. Only a few chosen people can meet them and Luke being one of them.

The micro world is parallel to macro space world Star Wars. Like how there’s planets and alien life. The micro world has cell planets and micro aliens living there. Luke was gonna travel the micro world to meet the Whills. What’s above, so below. A cell dying and then reborn is the same as a star dying and reborn again. He was onto something so deep that the world wasn’t entirely ready for. If he were to introduce the sequels his vision, people would learn to appreciate it. Ad a person who loves metaphysics. I see what he’s going for. The Whills are god or the force. They live everywhere. Just how our cells in our bodies gives us life. So do the Whills. Like in Daredevjl, you learn about the Japanese Triads. But behind the gangster organization are a secret society of cult ninjas who can resurrect the dead back to life and perform demonic rituals and such. So I get what Lucas was doing. The biology of midi-chilorians was getting you ready for the spiritual deeper side which is the Whills. The god force that lives in the micro world.

I remember watching the original trilogy, when I found out that Yoda has been training Jedi for hundreds of years and when Luke says he cannot die and Yoda answers that he is strong in the Force, but not THAT strong, it created the idea that the longevity of Yoda's life has come from his connection through the Force and one could even overcome the process of aging and dying through that connection. It felt so divine in nature. The Mandalorian show kind of stomped on that. Vader saying that the ability to destroy a planet is nothing compared to the power of the Force created such a sense of awe, but it was again kind of .. a mix of cast aside and retconned by what came after. It didn't need to be fully explored, but the idea should've remained instead of it being diminished. Some legends stories kept that, i think, and maybe they do have it present in comics, which i haven't read, but the movies and shows kind of ignored it completely.

Like the wills just add layers to things IMO. Do night-sisters manipulate the force or do they call upon the wills to control the force in a more powerful manner? When the Bendu says he "Serves the will of the force" is he talking about the force itself or the wills? how many other unteatherd complex life forms like Bendu and Mortis are out there and do the serve the force or the wills directly? I guess what im saying that mystery is intrinsic and answers just lead to more questions.

Now that i think about it if the wills are organisms that live in the universe, then that means we are still missing a piece of the puzzle. Perhaps the wills serve something in the world outside space and time where the Jedi project themself from.

I don't know what more George wanted to explain about the Whills. They are at least sentient, because they must be affected by the twisting malice of the Sith. And they only want themselves, because they represent life. Like Bashar alludes to, but refuses to say outright: "Aliens want human beings to ascend in their frequency, as it is "gratifying and entertaining" for them to watch, how humans are able to do that." I think he means: "more energy from Earth = more energy for me to feed on, yum-yum!" I like the idea that too much light, OR too much dark, both result in the Dark Side taking over - that's the road to Hell, paved with only the best (or worst) intentions. And it resonates so much with Rey's story, how much she wants to be the hero. Not to meaningfully help anyone else, obviously, that would be heroic. Nono, she just likes the way the title of Hero would look on her name-tag. That's a whole new level of evil. And I like the notion of Whills as particles - that makes sense, too, because once they detect the Jedi aren't bending them anymore, and the Sith aren't twisting them anymore, it removes the observer effect, and they fall back into their natural interference pattern - where the highest wave meets the highest wave, we get the Dyad. And then progressively smaller Demyads on either side (all three, probably, trinity in everything) of it. I don't think it was about lack of mysticism. It's the idea, that magic happens by way of conducive elements in the blood, that hurts their feelings... Because previously, they had this notion: "Oh, damn, I wish I had the title Hero on MY name-tag, because then it would be okay for me, to pull my cock out and masturbate in her face, every time I see a pretty girl, y'know, the way real heroes do!" And George turns around, and says: "Ehrmm, no, that's not what I meant. Hero is in your blood - or usually it just isn't, and then you are just hopelessly fucked, and you'll never get a girlfriend, and there ain't a god damn thing you can do about it, you degenerate loser, haha!" That's what they're angry about.

Yoda alluded to this when talking to Luke “luminous beings are we, not this crude matter”. George was trying to explain it, maybe not well, but I think it tracks. Religion has always been a major influence on Star Wars. The force can spontaneously create life (like the Virgin Birth), and Jedi have the imperative to only take what they need from the force and to not be greedy. All that George is doing with midichlorians is explaining how these things physically take place in his world. The ground rules of the midichlorians are really important to the story so that the force doesn’t become “superpowers” or whatever like what happens in the Kathyverse. In the Kathyverse, the force is whatever the plot happens to need, which totally diminishes the overall point of Star Wars. And the Acolyte is going to show how bad the Jedi are, which is the complete opposite of George’s story. Disney has stripped Star Wars and sold it for parts.

George explains it pretty candidly it's just that people never fully grasped the concept of the force he was putting down because it was something new and it just flies right over their heads while they just focus on the superficial stuff and the easier topics like the father/son dilemma. Even then people are still confounded by the midichlorians because of the ignorant belief that it was the force itself or that it was too "science" even though the force was never a mystery it always had a clear, basic explanation in anh and then expanded upon further in esb people just love to pretend and gaslight themselves and others that it was "always" some msyterious and vague, arbitrary gobbledygook. Same goes for the whole attachments thing which makes sense as well but because it's a new foreign concept to people, especially a western audience, based upon eastern Buddhist philosophies/lifestyle, they diss it.

I have always head-canoned them as powerful god like entities that were once mortal but have basically fused themselves with the force and transcended into a plane of existence far beyond, but since the plane of existence they exist in is so much bigger than the one we know, they can’t fully interfere or enter the mortal plane without bending reality itself to the point of doing massive damage to the universe itself, sort like what would happen if a man tries to enter a doll house. So the only way they can truly interact with the universe is by projecting themselves or reincarnating a part of themselves as microorganisms that feed off the force and can survive virtually anywhere, their presence is still vast enough for them to be everywhere (which allows them to keep track of events going on in the universe) but subtle enough that they don’t really interfere

It is a flawed concept and fiction that lies outside the truth of the REAL Star Wars Universe. There are only 6 movies and the Clone Wars. I'm kinda glad it has been kept vague, but also referenced from time to time, like in Rogue One, where there are Guardians of the Whills who protect the temple on Jedha. Like, isn’t it creepy (and equally interesting, from a certain point of view) how far their reach is, and how their goal is to have as much influence as possible, and even going so far as to teach certain ‘useful’ people how to install their consciousness into their network? I always looked at midi-chlorians, and now I guess the whills, as natural conduits for channeling or expressing the force. Not necessarily creating the force itself. If you naturally are born with more midi-chlorians, your ability to use the force increases. In terms of what creates the force, or what the force is to begin with, should be another matter entirely, having nothing to do with an individual person’s body. The force is basically god or god’s Spirit/power in that particular universe. At some point, Star Wars is going to probably want to address who or what creates the force in the first place. Either a God, or some sort of karma like a universal law

I believe those Wills in the clone wars, are something called anthropomorphic personifications, best-known example is the grim reaper or death it is a force and a natural phenomenon shaped into a humanoid form ny the human mind because it´s more easy to imagine a discussion with a skeleton than with entropy.

Well said, but the masked force priestesses were never the Whills or intended to be interpreted as the Whills. They were Force ghosts themselves.... once living, predating the Jedi, part of the Order of the Whills, who studied the Force and the Whills. It has always been intended, since the prequels, that.... the Whills, as single celled organisms, form a network.

Lucas gets a lot of inspiration from esoterics. Some esoteric writings suggest that, while seemingly magical, spirituality, God, and things of that nature are more scientific than magical because they follow higher irrefutable Laws. Humans lack understanding is what makes it seem magical or mystical.

Nothing is canon in George's Star Wars except his 6 original movies and the Clone Wars. THERE IS NOTHING ELSE. Disney Star Wars is poorly written and executed fan fiction, detached from George's canon. You are misguided, my friend. All Disney products, all expanded universe content are outside of Star Wars truth and NOT GEORGE LUCAS' STAR WARS. His words. Sorry. Nothing outside of George's word should be considered. You can like the expanded content... but you shouldn't. It's all a lie.

Kinda relates the the debate about magic systems in Fantasy. Hard or soft systems. I prefer the soft magic argument. I think writers lean to hard on the Force. The character becomes a vehicle for it. Solving the story depends on it rather than the character. Grand displays and a reliance on them rather than more subtle support displays make the character more accessible. Further, making it an arms race for force powers seems counterintuitive to the Jedi train of thought. Certainly you'd expect it from the Sith. But chasing greater force power just seems like more of a slippery slope. Finding ways to manipulate the mechanics to gain more power. Not being able to know why or how focuses the story on who the character is and how they build themselves. Rather than how they cultivate power. It just makes for stronger character development imho.

I don’t mind the midichlorians, it was the immaculate conception that I wasn’t thrilled with. Those beings were definitely not what George Lucas originally envisioned. he was describing bacteria, and the fight between good and bad bacteria, and he seemed to be kind of ahead of his time because many people feel that gut bacteria may control the urges that we have. For instance the more sugar we eat, the more that bacteria increases, and the more potentially communicates with our brain to eat even more sugar. Star Wars has always been a mix of Science Fiction fantasy, a.k.a. the space, opera, but I personally love his idea of these microscopic Whills. I think it works really well with the Star Wars universe and the need for balance.

I'm actually fine with the idea of midichlorians and Whills and everything. It's a little weird to think that there are just little creatures crawling around in these characters, but it's not like that doesn’t happen in real life. And I like how it means some people are "blessed" with more Force power than others. Even if the Jedi aren't a religion per se, most belief systems do have some idea of divine intervention. It's not as though George Lucas ever said the Jedi created the Force by eugenics or something like that. The Force is still coming from outside the universe, now we just know how. I'd definitely like to see this explored in a future movie or book, but only if they could do it in a way that was organically integrated into a story and wouldn’t just sound like a lecture.

@zigurdur92 yes, but the Jedi weren't doing genetic experiments or getting intimate with each other to produce the ultimate warrior or anything like that. Occurrences like Anakin, Luke, and Rey were all very rare. Maybe it's possible for Force sensitivity to be genetic, but clearly it's also possible to become more powerful by general training/meditation. Characters like Yoda and Mace Windu became respected Force users without an established connection to anyone

@jonathancoleman9062 Жыл бұрын
@zigurdur92 okay then, maybe eugenics wasn't the word I should have used. Eugenics is defined as forcibly breeding two things together to produce offspring with "desirable" qualities, in this case Force ability. The Jedi never did that. They didn't do genetic experiments with midichlorians like what Plagueis did in Legends. The Jedi just took the strongest Force sensitives they found across the galaxy to join them. I was just trying to say that finding someone random who was naturally born with a certain talent and actively trying to create a person like that through genetic engineering are two different things. The Jedi were not scientists, they were monks, so they didn't use eugenics, just very active recruitment.
@zigurdur92
@zigurdur92 Жыл бұрын
@@jonathancoleman9062 they used eugenics tools to actively find the best padawans. How is that not eugenics? If they were given choice between Rey & Finn based on current canon. They would choice Rey over Finn but without eugenics tool maybe Finn would have chance of becoming Jedi over Rey. Maybe they fall of Jedi was when they started using midichlorians tools as their base of searching younglings. Jedi being not Scientists is also false like most religious monks they had time & place to be more Scientists. Good example of real life monk / Scientist is Nicolaus Copernicus. To do experiments & learn the nature of the universe. That is why their universial knowledge were great. The empire then used those tools to kill & search force users.

I know I am in the minority, but I never had an issue with the whole midi-chlorians thing. I was only about 13 when Phantom Menace came out, but my understanding of The Force was always that it was something Force users harnessed; hence Force USER. "It surrounds us and penetrates us. It binds the Universe together." I always thought of The Force as a sort of cosmic background energy, and people who are "Force-sensitive" can harness and control that energy/power. So the midi-chlorians being the facilitators of that connection always made perfect sense to me. However, and granted I never watched Clone Wars the animated series, but I don't really see how the Whills really fit in to that picture.

George Lucas is a codexer like me. I think the creation of all of it is extremely beautiful and unique. And always get disappointed and frustrated when people don’t understand that “mysticism”is just magical science. For example, Mayan elders told their children how the world was created through the use of story building nature tales. Their use of complex scientific words would be seen by other cultures as just a magical world.

I personally love the idea of diving deeper into the force... Science tells us that the force is especially these microscopic organisms living inside of us, creating a symbiotic relationship and these things are called midichlorians... The Whills are the higher power of that (quite literally)... Speaking to us via midichlorians... To me, even by exploring the deeper nature of the force via science, it makes sense while simultaneously remaining mysterious. In chemistry or biology we're told what a lot of stuff is, but I always still wondered the "why" when I got the "what" and the "how". If you end up doing the AI George Lucas sequel trilogy treatment... You should really incorporate the Whills even though you aren't the biggest fan of them. We don't always have to know the "why" but getting the "what" and the "how" is very much needed in expansive lore imo. Also, if you end up doing it... Bringing Maul back (again) will be tricky if you're following Rebels canon where he died... Perhaps his spirit embodies a host or simply a Frankenstein clone of him.

All life share's these microscopic interactions growing and evolving through balanced cycles of life and death, creation and destruction. The dark side here is almost like cancer, self serving, consuming and corrupting everything, until there can be no cycle, no evolution and ultimately no life.. but I'm a nerd😊
