George is the greatest rock guitarist of all time. He is constantly changes modes and techniques to amazing effect. So many passing tones and modified diatonic scales. And yet somehow he never seems to get out of key no matter what he is playing over. I've never seen his level of effortless improvisation while incorporating so many advanced guitar skills. Oh yeah, and he's old. He's lost nothing, maybe better than ever.
Pretty good audition tape that young man has prepared. He might even be able to join a band sometime!

Excellent player, unique style, very expressive and explosive....certainly sounds practiced to me...he's not perfect, which is a good thing...he pushes his limits which is refreshing...all the great players have.

Right! I love him for being not perfect, great ideas great style and sounds
What a joy it is watching George play. Truly unique, mountains of feel, attitude, passion, and musical expression. Thanks for this, made my day brighter. :)

That first tune was pretty good, man. He was doing so many ideas and just going for it. Total ad lib, it seemed. That's so different from the Satches and Vais of the world where every note is mapped out in advance so you never hear them hit a wrong note or clunker or lose their timing. It's all mega-rehearsed and planned. These were just George jamming from memory. Nice seeing a guitar legend do that so baldly, clunkers and all. Great tone and interesting phrasing and licks. I would say even that George has now surpassed Eddie in his playing ability. Eddie relied more heavily on little tricks and creativity and his rhythms were sick and on time but here, George is displaying a vaster knowledge of moving in and out of modes (he did Phrygian several times in that first piece) and finger picking, etc. It seemed like George was always learning and Eddie stagnated heavily for years at a time. We'll never really know how badass Randy might have gotten. He was pretty badass on the Ozzy albums anyway. Just to throw in those for thought. This was a nice vid!

The guitar needs a setup you can tell from the missing notes and Floyd Rose action. That's what I admire about George he just plays the fucking guitar without bitching about setup, hardware etc.

Tough keeping up with all the incredible young guitar talent these days, but George is doing a surprisingly good job. Not particularly smooth, but if he would have played this technical when he was young, he would've blown everyone else away.
Great vibrato , George is REAL , , nowadays the guitar world is full of "nerds "of scales ,playing fast without NOTHING to say ,all monsters technically , but everybody sounds almost the same , nobody takes chances when they are "improvising", it s becoming a sport , but IT S NOT!!!

Yeah like the late 80's all over again, and george shone thru the nerds back then coz he had taste then as well as now.
you can really hear the jeff beck influence in this

unscripted noise...still a killer player I just like the late Dokken ...early Lynch Mob days.....I guess he's just noodling around...
@TruthSurge4 жыл бұрын
unscripted? yes. noise? hahahahah so he has a few notes that don't sustain. He's ad libbing and really going for it and that's how it sounds. Polished up clean w/o mistakes? Go listen to an album!

@@TruthSurge dude...I've seen George a million times....I have heard how well he can play...as of late he just bullshits around and I feel it is just "going nowhere NOISE"...I'm allowed my fuckin opinion..I didn't mention a word about sustain...read MY whole comment and don't just pick out my idea of what noise is...have a great day Mr.TRUTH....
Wow what nice rare axes he has,,I have seen him play all different types of music that must be why he has so many guitars one of the best player on my list thanks George for keeping me motivated
Vibrato is the most expressive out there👍. George killer songs with Dokken and Lynch mob are classics. The virtuoso at NAMM are boring and copies of one another. George has gold records on his walls, where as those kids have endorsement deals with Ibanez. Andy Timmons, Laura Basio, Yvette Lee outclass the new generation or sweep pickers
No need to change your band name ... Everyone knows it's just a play on your name . You don't have to protect people's feelings

Only thing scary about this is how haphazard and sloppy his playing is. It's great to improvise, but it's better to have a phrase in mind before you start playing notes.

@@tc68bird oh I didn't know, well now makes sense, gotta be honest george lynch haves always gone under my musical radar, I'll listen more of him, cuz like I said before its kinda cool and different to the yngwie perfeccionist style I'm used to, it feels more ALIVE

Kerry Long George Lynch jamming doesn’t sound like George Lynch? Close your eyes, it’s George Lynch. If you open your eyes it’s still George Lynch. Must be George Lynch.

The thing about Lynch is that he's willing to f' around and try different stuff on the fly. Even if most of it comes out sounding like dog 💩sooner or later he'll get a few nuggets that don't.
