Pretty sure for the most part, you write the script first, then you shoot it. Would be rough if you shot a show without a full script. Granted, that was narration, and thus probably didn't need to be finalized. But there were numerous cuts during that sequence, so it wouldn't be difficult to make sure there was perfect agreement between narration and the screen-time.

Yeah I was gonna say something similar. I was impressed but then I realized what show we're talking about. Every anime director: now just 0.5 seconds before this possibly defining scene, let’s play flashbacks of this character’s entire life and make sure it spans over the whole episode so that when the last flashback plays, the ending song will be playing in the background. Also make sure to NOT animate the said, defining scene and leave it on a cliffhanger just to make sure the people watch the next episode so they can find out what happens after we’ve condensed 20 minutes of content into 0.5 seconds in this anime world.

Arrested Development is such a good show. They put a lot of effort into it. A lot of people didn't like the ending seasons but I did. I know they didn't have as much to work with but the thematics involving how family dynamics often manifest are brilliant. The way that families attempt to control their kids to their own detriment is also one of those themes I think our society needs to pay more attention to. The control issues of parents definitely stunt the development of the majority of people. It's why society is such a difficult situation, especially as time goes on

Y’all are talking about how great that the movie actually had the timing right. However, I’m amazed at he stopped the stop watch at exactly 41.0 seconds. No milliseconds, nothing! Just flat!

if when they shot the scene he paused for 44 seconds, wouldn't Opie have been given a script that said 44 seconds???
@RFC-3514
@RFC-3514 3 жыл бұрын
The script probably din't contain any specific number, he just read it in front of the time and said the time it was showing when he got to that point. The video is then edited to match the audio, not the other way around.

With one decimal place, there's a 10% chance of getting it if your reaction time is 1 second or less (and most people's reaction time is typically between 0.3 and 0.1 seconds). And that's assuming you only do it once, of course (you can just film it multiple times and then upload the clip where you got it spot on).

I think most agree the stopping of the stop watch was the only cool thing about this video. The joke is not even impressive in my opinion.. The whole joke revolves around him not replying for 41 seconds precisely but as the narrator says that, he continues to not reply for several seconds more, kinda negates the whole joke because it hinges on those precise 41 seconds, internal clock and all.
