I thought he just said that he finished them and they will be out soon but I might be wrong I’m one of the really late bloomers, I just finished GOT about a month ago (the show). I started it and watched the entire 8 seasons in like 2 weeks lol, I just couldn’t stop watching. I was a bit disappointed with the ending as that is not what I wanted to happen with Jon Snow (my fav character) but overall it was an epic show. I just got the first book bc now I am reading those to see the differences and similarities etc. but I could have sworn that I saw something with George and he said they were completed. He is attending Worldcon. 2) The HotD S2 will have finished by then so he can talk about the new book without overshadowing a running TV show. 3) GRRM has made some very positive cryptic blog posts with titles that have the initials WOW. 4) The overall timing confirms a theory among fans that George HAD finished the book years ago but was dissatisfied and started again.
