Could not find this clip online- somebody needed to put it up, might as well be me. I don't own anything to do with this movie.
Dusty (George Strait), Buddy (Kyle Chandler) and Lula (Lesley Ann Warren)
Dusty meets with Buddy and confronts him about the lie he told the press. Dusty threatens to sue Buddy if he ever shows his face in country music again and Buddy leaves.
From Wikipedia:
Pure Country is a 1992 American dramatic musical western film directed by Christopher Cain and starring George Strait in his acting debut, with Lesley Ann Warren, Isabel Glasser and Kyle Chandler. The film was considered a box office bomb, but it grossed over $15 million against a $10 million budget, and the soundtrack was a critical success and, to date, is Strait's best selling album. It was followed by two direct-to-video sequels, Pure Country 2: The Gift (2010) and Pure Country: Pure Heart (2017).

sometimes a point needs 2 get across and he certainly got it, after all his guards and band members had 2 wait on Buddy foot and hand so George's character did take some responsibility for it but said he was sorry and it was nice how Lula told Dusty thanks finally knowing she was wrong for what she did.

He made it bad, not badass. That was terrible. Amazing singer who needs to stay away from acting. Young Kyle Chandler was the best part of that scene.

This movie was no doubt in response to Garth Brooks who pretty much invented "arena country" as it really bothered Dusty that too many of his fans, his showmanship was increasingly becoming more important than his music.

@burtonryan50 Жыл бұрын
@garrettmiles3644 He still is angry at her for having Buddy do the lip syncing of his show, and he was upset with her that she let greed get in the way of her better judgment. He also never wanted to do more concerts with more smoke & blinding lights to where no one can see him play. Especially too with the loud music to where no one can hear him. But again, she was all about the money, and didn't take his concerns seriously enough. Which is why he decides to walk away. But more of the line was crossed when Lula told Harley the lie that he was her husband. He really was on the verge of letting her go. But she was one of his oldest friends and work colleagues. On that level he did respect her for. But he wasn't gonna take anymore of this crap from her. And he just told her "you can either do this with me, or I'll do it by myself". So really she is lucky to keep her job at all.
