About Seinfeld:
Seinfeld stars Jerry Seinfeld as a stand-up comedian whose life in New York City is made even more chaotic by his quirky group of friends who join him in wrestling with life's most perplexing, yet often trivial questions. Often described as "a show about nothing," Seinfeld mines the humor in life's mundane situations like waiting in line, searching for a lost item, or the trials and tribulations of dating. Co-starring are Julia Louis-Dreyfus as Jerry's ex-girlfriend and current platonic pal, Elaine Benes; Jason Alexander as George Costanza, Jerry's neurotic hard-luck best friend; and Michael Richards as Jerry's eccentric neighbor, Kramer.

Fun Fact: According to Jason Alexander, the monologue was actually an alternate ending to the episode. The initial test screening of The Marine Biologist ended with George walking into the sea, but the Seinfeld crew didn't find the ending funny. Larry David wrote the monologue and Jason memorized it in ten minutes. It was done entirely in one take.

One interesting aspect of Seinfeld is how they will switch into almost quaint, theatrical language sometimes. 'the sea was angry that day my friends' lol.

According the commentary on the DVDs, the audience reaction to this scene was so loud and lasted for so long, the guys in the editing room had to alter the volume of the crowd and cut the amount of time the audience can be heard, otherwise it would have caused the episode to run too long for broadcast.

Such a convoluted career story. You don't normally go into such detail when you talk about your friend's job.

I just saw the interview Jerry Seinfeld did when he stated that Jason Alexander was given that speech only 30 minutes before he was to deliver it on television and slam dunked it! How he was able to memorize it and deliver it along with George's mannerisms was astounding!

Kramer's expression at the end looks remarkably similar to ones of the guilty dogs videos you see on KZbin.

2:20 Jason Alexander memorized the text in one hour, written the night before, and the scene was shot in one take with no rehersal.
