Good lord, whoever snatches up your heart is a lucky man. I’m trying to be classy because I’m not a hound dog anymore in my old age of 33 and I’m married but I feel it would be rude to not let you know that you’re a rare gem there Amanda.. I won’t ever run a drop of liquor with my wife and she doesn’t wanna know about my dealings and below board hobbies. 😉 my heart is truly captivated by the craft though. I love the work I put in to my stuff. Right now I 30 gals of Guava passion fruit working off in the garage with a fermentation heater because it’s freaking 30-40 degrees over here
@AmandaBryantDistillingАй бұрын
@racerothery2716 no way guava! Thanks for the kind words! Your wife must be wonderful if you can be running stuff! I did quava once before, but it did not turn out so great it smelled pretty "weird" I won't say here, just lmk if you get any off smells of the mash lmk I'd be intresred to hear how yours turns out
@RaceReady2AАй бұрын
She is indeed. Yeah so I started it using Hawaiians own guava passion fruit frozen juice cans and I did 37 of them. Then I did a whole bottle of guava puree and another full bottle of passion fruit puree/cane syrup. I did 27lbs of sugar that I first did a little chemical alterations on before adding it to split the long chain sugars into shorties that the yeast can eat easier. Initial gravity was 1.080… this is where it gets strange to me… that start date was 4 mondays ago I’m only down to 1.020 🧐… whatever on that though.. it smells amazing and has the whole time.. you can smell that mash almost all the time in my garage and it’s great. Especially when I open it up. I’ll post on you next video after we run it next weekend. I feel like it’s gonna be top tier.

HI Amanda, so, 60% rye, 35% corn and 5% barley...if only barley was malted is there enough power to convert rye and corn? Can you share what grains was used as a malt in this recipe? tnx, cheers.
@AmandaBryantDistilling2 ай бұрын
It was 6 row barely malt.
@AmandaBryantDistilling2 ай бұрын
The correct ratio of malted barley 6 row can convert all of the starches of the corn and rye. 10-20 percent is more of a certain way to assure proper conversion.
@bosherba2 ай бұрын
@@AmandaBryantDistilling ok, tnx. so, 5% most likely at that time wasn't converting all of it, but it was "good enough" I assume...I understand that much but real math, even I was watching how to make a mash bill, never use it, I am in fruits, my part of the world 99% works fruits. tnx again.
