I love the logo Amanda. You hit the nail right on the head with the name. I graduated with a college prep seal but chose this lifestyle instead of college. I was blackballed by my family and have lived homeless in the woods with my passion for the past 20 years. Love hearing the story of how you came to be where you are now. -DirtySouthDistiller

Congratulations Amanda!! I’ve been watching you since you first appeared on the Moonshiners Master Distiller show, and on to the Moonshiners show itself. I love the name of the new distillery, I can’t wait to buy a t-shirt. I’m so fascinated with distilling but I don’t drink booze anymore. I see all these different flavours and would love to just put a drop on my tongue to taste it (don’t worry, I’m not an alcoholic, I just always enjoyed drugs more lol). Anyway, all the best of luck on your venture, I’ll be watching. Let me know when the shirts go on sale! And perhaps a selection of airplane sized samplers for someone like myself whom a shot of liquor will last me a few hours.

I’m really excited about everything that you’re doing. I know you’re a science girl I’ve been using used oak 1x1x4” staves with sweet Marsala in a vacuum, it soaks it up through and through but you can use anything use them in jars or barrels it works great so hard to find wine barrels inappropriate sizes. This is the next best thing.
@AmandaBryantDistillingАй бұрын
Yes I have seen this technique, They make Those stainless steel barrels in 50G actually that pull a suction and also are temp controlled the rapid age with staves like this its very interesting!
@SuperNessa83Ай бұрын
So I’ve separate the tree sap from the water by freezing and I’ve distilled the water put 10 gallons of maple water in the still and got just over 91/2 gallons in return any thoughts on this
@AmandaBryantDistilling28 күн бұрын
Sp you have distilled water getting back 9.5 gallons from the original 10 gallons, it sounds like you have lost a bit to evaporation, or simply through the process of rectification you will always get back less then you out in.
@AmandaBryantDistilling28 күн бұрын
If you used a thumper or any secondary distillation chambers then you have the missing maple water there. But I'm curious how it tastes?
@SuperNessa8328 күн бұрын
@@AmandaBryantDistilling I was under the impression that distilling water was a 3:1 ratio but yea the water still smells and taste like maple but I was able to make maple syrup that looks like water just by freezing it several times
@SuperNessa8328 күн бұрын
@ maple is 40:1 ratio people boil out the 39 gallons of water to concentrate the sap I’m saying freeze it out and keep the water

Why is it called UNHOLY
@AmandaBryantDistillingАй бұрын
I explain the name in the video. It tells a story of how no one is perfect and we all come from unholy beginnings and become better people. It also tells a story of our town Saint Paul VA, we are not unholy people, we all use our struggle in life to come to better places.. also We are illegal moonshiners becoming legal distillers
@AmandaBryantDistillingАй бұрын
The whole explanation is in this video
@patmancrowley8509Ай бұрын
Amanda, the name of the company is displeasing. I can't imagine how the group came about that name but as a good man I won't be buying your product.
@AmandaBryantDistillingАй бұрын
The name is thoroughly explained in the video, it originated from a historical article written about the town our building is in but tells story of illegal moonshiners going into a legal industry, no one is ever perfect in the begin we learn to become good from our beginnings, its unfortunate your upset with the name.

I couldn’t sleep thinking about making wine and I bought all the additives and then I got a 3 gallon carboy and I was making my first batch. Now I have (3) 3 gallon carboys and a floor model corker. I only do fruit wine, haven’t tried grapes yet but I’m slowly getting more interested in making something stronger it takes more money but I love it when somebody really likes my wine, you can knock me over with a feather I feel like you share the thirst I have except you know more than me I think that’s why I’m drawn to you and your informative videos and the show you’re on
