There have only been a handful of big bands that have had a bass player be so front and center and also known by everyone in the audience. Despite all that, Joe is still underrated and relatively unknown by the general populace which is a shame. He is a generational talent.

Drummer is Theo Katzman, also an amazing singer, guitar player, songwriter. Absolutely phenomenal musician in everything he does. Check out some of his solo stuff, it’s a vibe.

Mind blowing solo? He is just repeating basic lines over and over in different tempo. Do some research about truly the masters in bass and you'll be mindblown. But I'm happy ppl discovered their taste for bass, but this is just beginner level to what the greatest has to offer. Happy discovering 😊

Just saw Vulfpeck live this weekend and they beat every other show in the weekend, Odesza, Kendrick Lamar, Paramore, none of them could beat Joe as the absolute dynamo of funk. They officiated a Jewish wedding mid-show, Cory Wong played with them the whole time, and the hour set felt like 10 minutes. Vulfpeck is unbeatable

Reading the notation reduces my anxiety in exactly the same way as reading the plot synopsis of a movie on Wikipedia during the movie to see what will happen in the next couple of scenes

That drummer is Theo Katzman, who I consider one of the greatest living songwriters, a monumentally talented drummer and guitarist himself, and the fact that he's looking at Joe Dart like that says he lot.

Normally when I see a bassist take the front, the guitarist has to kind of purposefully slow down. In this one, he just can't keep up with all. That. FUNKY

Insane bass chops. Big credit to his band for locking in with him though. It's funny the part that got the biggest reaction from the audience was one of the most simple parts, relatively.

Bass is such an underrated instrument. Not a single person I've met has said that they want to learn to play the Bass. It's always Guitar, Piano, Violin, Drums and sometimes Saxophone but never Bass.

the shape you use on the main riff is often used in funk but how you use it is completly up to you so yes its used often and joe dart here made the main riff in the solo out of the shape
