Well done for one week of learning spanish without an actual teacher. It is quite impressive actually. This goes to show how far confidence and a positive mindset can take you when learning a new language. The best thing you can do is just to throw yourself into situations where you are out of depth and then take in all the new vocabulary and tips you get when failing. Learning a new language is an iterative process and even though you may, at some points, not realize you're improving, you should look back at where you started, appreciate your effort and then go at it again :) Mucha suerte con tu aprendizaje, George. Con esa actitud vas a aprender la lengua bonita rápidamente 🇪🇸

And just really wanting to get past the frustration of not understanding, I changed the way I thought and went about my daily life during that year and I did it. I’d say i began to become fluent, ie i started to become independent in my ability to express my self, understand and adapt in unpredictable situations, somewhere about 6-8 months into that. It’s definitely doable, just, at least for me, takes a commitment to involve yourself with native speakers as often as literally possible. That one guy had some good advice. Learning a language is not a linear gradual experience, its gonna be slow at first, but once you pick it up then you'll be able to understand a lot more. On that note, I also learned that exposure and the immediate needs for a particular skill, is really what makes you learn a lot. For example, being placed in a Spanish speaking public lobby and getting booted out for speaking English in Among Us, really gave me the motivation to pretend I knew Spanish. It was fun. In the game everyone spoke really simply and to the point, and I got to learn all the colour names.

This video was very entertaining! I've been learning Korean through a mix of duolingo and a program at my university where you teach someone a language and they teach you one in return. I find duolingo is good for teaching you vocabulary, but it does not explain sentence structure, conjugation or formalities very well. It also is not great for conversation practice, which is where having a buddy is useful! I kept writing down words or phrases you said throughout the video that I didn't know in Korean so I can practice them with my partner! You're making me tempted to practice with strangers, but some weird stuff goes on on Omegle. Having conversations in a foreign language is one thing, but to do it with strangers requires so much confidence! Great video!

Hi! A Spaniard speaking! To everyone around trying to learn another language, I recommend starting by watching cartoons for toddlers. They use very basic language, as they're intend to teach children on how to speak. You learn simple phrases and tons of vocabulary. I know a lot of people who started like this, including myself, and trust me, it works. Obviously the next step is mixing yourself in the community. When you don't have any other option, when you can only make yourself understood by trying your best in this new language, your brain just learns to find the way to express anything. Good luck everyone!

i havent watched the whole video yet so you mightve already learned it, but just a tip i’ve learnt while doing spanish gcse! for present endings, you change it depending on who you talk to, so: o, as, a, amos, aís, an i, you, he/she, we, you (pl), they and you put those at the end, so when asking if someone speaks spanish, instead of saying “¿tu hablo español?” you’d say “¿tu hablas español?” idk if this makes any sense but yeah ! :)
@meganhill4506 Жыл бұрын
Yes, for AR verbs, but it's o, es, e, emos, eís, en for ER and IR verbs. It also only applies to the present indicative tense :( Also for ¿tú hablas español? you can just say ¿hablas español?, as the ending of the verb already indicates who you're talking about/to. ¡Buena suerte para sus exámenes!

As a spanish learner rn, learn you verbs and tenses. Thats the base i think. So like 'to play' is 'jugar' and in present tense its 'juego'. But its different in the past and future tense. Learn your verbs and then learn around that. Making sentences like 'mañana, me gustaria jugar con mis amigos'. I believe in you🙏🏻

No that’s the worse way. As a language learner myself, memorising is the worst thing to do. You need comprehensible input etc like when a child learns their native language :) I highly recommend ‘Spanish after hours’ and ‘dreaming Spanish’ bueno suerte 👍🏼 😊

Can anybody help me out? U see i’m hispanic, half latina, peruvian, whatever, my problem is I don’t speak spanish! I need to learn spanish to talk to me peruvian family. I’m not going to use omegel because of obvious reasons but i’m so desperate to fit in with my peruvian culture, and my mom never taught me spanish, which was cruel to my future. I need to learn, I don’t care how long to get me fluent, but I want to know a lot in the next 2 years. I promised myself not to use duolingo because my sister had been using it for a year and it’s barely taught her spanish either. I really want to impress my mom and my family but I really really need help learning. Does anybody suggest or have any tips to help me learn?

Duolingo, i recommend u to play somes games with translation on spanish and movies on spanish, use translator if u dont know some word and you can also try to watch some famous spanish youtubers when u end all that to see if you understand them to know how much spanish do u know. Or u can start by putting on subtitles on english (automatic ones) to understand these videos.

Hola. como estas? un placer conocerte. Estoy aprendiendo español. Soy estadounidense de los Estados Unidos. Hablo un poco de español. Llevo siete meses aprendiendo español ¿Llevas ya ocho meses aprendiendo español? First and fore most pick a topic you love and put most of your vocabulary there, this won't help short term, but later this will help in the long run. For example I learned a lot of nature stuff. I can understand upward to 80% watching some nature related shows (more when reading) in spanish dealing with nature topics. Everything else is maybe 20% -30% but I use what I know well to slowy gain understanding in other topics. Get Chat gpt, it can do so many things even be a tutor, its helped me alot. Watch stuff in spanish minimal of 1 hour, but I recommend 2 or more. Start off slow with a few minutes, because your brain litterly has to adjust to it...I had bad headaches at first trying to listen to it a lot. Do your best to talk to spainsh speakers, its hard if your shy, but it gets better with time and it speeds up the process. Understand it will take a while, unless your crazy gifted. Learn it everyday! Its difficult at first, but it becomes a habit and gets easier I promise. I haven't missed a day yet and I'm undisciplined as it gets. Read spanish, you can use chat gpt to make custom reading material. I also like reading and writing in spanish here in the youtube comments. As far as duolingo it wont make you fluid by its self, but imo for grammer its useful. Learn and practice basic phrases untill your able to construct them from your mind. Also look for peruvian dialect content. There are many spanish dialects and focusing on one will speed things up. In my case I want to understand all dialects...but its slowing me down vs focusing on just one. If you can find someone to practice with it will speed things up to. Also its weird at first, but speak out loud to your self in spanish. I have a hard time talking to ramdom strangers so I practice speaking into chat gpt (voice to text) it helps a lot. Use Google translate to pronounce the words, its not as good as native speakers, but its better then nothing also youtube has content on pronouncing words.
