There are Three versions (P.S The Third track you really have to hear the same tone and rhythm!) 1. The Original: Whitney Houston (If I Told You That!) 1998 2. Jennifer Lopez: (If You Had My Love) 1998 “Just Really Listen To Each Track Between (If I told You That Remix 2000 & If You Had My Love 1999) 3. the Remix (If I Told You That 2000) George Michael Changed The Whole Production to That Track And FLOATED the whole song!

Probably one of the greatest songs of the 1990's. Production fusion of disco and P-Funk, flawless ahead of its time video, styled by Vivienne Westwood, expressive and undoubtedly THE song that celebrated open sexuality and identity whilst at the same time taking a very clear dig at Sony, with the "fony" headphones. Utter brilliance, class and typical George. Timeless.

maybe you don’t understand the lyrics because of the language barrier? @pablomurtari9914 “in the absence of security, i make my way into the night. stupid cupid keeps on calling me, but i see nothing in his eyes. i miss my baby.” he wants love that lasts, but can’t seem to grasp it. so he relies on quick meaningless encounters to distract him.

My favourite George Michael track. I will remember him not just for the music but for his kindness and generosity, because in 2008 he held a free concert for NHS nurses at Wembley stadium to show his gratitude to the care his dying mother received from NHS staff. I was lucky to go and see him live there for the first time with my Mum who is a nurse. It was such a great concert and his voice hadn't changed. I remember and thank him for his music and his generosity. RIP George Michael.

This is what I'm thinking!!! I'm looking for this comment! This perfectly describes what's in the mind of a person who uses sex to temporarily forget about their troubles, so they could think effectively about how to solve them later. It gives you an opportunity to understand 2 different sides: the one who had already given up romantic relationships but still deems sex as a natural human need (primal instinct) and the one who is yet to discover and accept that he is of the same thing. Despite its catchy and upbeat sound, the lyrics of the song are really really sad. The person in this kind of affair knows exactly that this is morally incorrect as per societal norms. He thinks he's doing a bad, immoral thing, so he looks for like-minded people to make it make sense,. And if the relatability is high, the more that it'll make sense through collective experience. Though this is not just a decision wherein one day you woke up and decided that from now on you just want to fuck around. We have our own fair share of bad personal histories that's why we have reasons as to why we're doing things.

As someone who had a complex and difficult home life as a child that was complicated by ADHD and autism that wasn’t diagnosed until well into middle age, my ability to connect with people and have healthy romantic relationships was compromised for a long time. The lyrics of this song I find to be healing for me. For many years, I felt that sex was the only way I could connect to prospective romantic partners, and so as I extricated myself from this pattern, I found that I relate to the pain in George’s voice, especially as he sings the outro. You hear how much he’s using sex as an anesthetic as he mourns Anselmo at this point of time when he recorded the song. I’m just glad I don’t feel as alone in my struggle.
