What is the maximum continuous flow of oxygen and how long will the portable unit last without a refill
@ChristmasEve7776 жыл бұрын
I make liquid air in my basement with a cryocooler :) Once in a while, I let the liquid nitrogen boil off so I can play with the liquid oxygen that remains. I have a video of paper shooting flames like a flare after being soaked in LOX. It's fun stuff!

Hi, I was wondering when the patient wants to use the portable canister and turns on the flow rate, should the canister then have vapour around it while in use? is there any dangers to that vapour? thanks.

Hi: It depends. If there is moisture between the portable canister and the reservoir during filling, its possible that the vapor could be oxygen vapor so the usual oxygen safety precautions should be employed. Another possibility is that the vapor is just moisture that condensates as the canister filled (the components of it exposed to liquid oxygen are now super cold0 so a mist occurs.....especially in humid locations....it would be like taking something out of the freezer on a really hot summer day and watching the mist come off of it. Hope this helps.

The vapor that you are speaking about should disappear after awhile as the unit warms up. If you are in a hot and humid area, It could have a small amount of vapor coming off of it for quite awhile. When its hot and humid where I live and I pull a tray of ice cubes out of the freezer, there is usually a humidity vapor coming off of it. The vapor itself (under normal conditions) is just room air humidity. However, if your unit is leaking, it could be liquid O2 vaporizing. If your concerned, please have your service provider check it. Hope this helps

I've just been put on LOX and have a skin of ice on the exterior from the dial down to the bottom. Does anyone know what to do or why this is happening? The folks at my MDE company didn't know.

What uses does liquid oxygen have in the medical field? Is it just more convenient to store instead of pressurized? I always thought the pressurized oxygen canisters has liquid in them…

No, you can't liquify oxygen under room temperature conditions so the compressed gas needs much more volume. One liter LOX turns to 800 liter gas under normal conditions. A 1 liter gas cylinder with 200 bar can only deliver about 160 liter.

Hi: Personal Protective Equipment......heavy gloves, face shield etc to protect a person from injuries when handling liquid O2

Personal Protective Equipment: pretty much safety gear you would wear to protect yourself.
