Just watched this with my Mum who has begun using this system. Very informative even with the red nose 😊

I don't use any kind of PPE when I handle LOX except for my normal glasses that I'm always wearing. Eye protection is important. When it gets on your skin, it just barely stings, and only for a moment, with no pain or noticeable tissue damage. In fact, I discourage the use of gloves that aren't tucked under your sleeves. In case a LOX vessel fails and the liquid is splattered, you do NOT want it trapped between your glove and your hand. You're better off with no gloves. Sleeves are okay as long as you aren't going to throw your arms up in the air after a spill... I go sleeveless too...

Only thing is im not a trained nurse or doctor like you what you recon can i learn on you tube videos

@@ndysmith Hi Andy... I see your trained in Heating and Ventilation... but I would recommend that you don't try to obtain a ventilator for you or your wife even if you get Covid 19. You could very easily blow a hole in your lung (pneumothorax) and that wouldn't be pretty. There are non-invasive bi-level pressure machines that you can obtain with a physician's order, but these are provided for patients at home that have severe obstructive sleep apnea. Or possibly for patients with neuromuscular disorders. Stay home as much as possible. Order in. If you have to go out, practice physical distancing.

I have two of them and I see the tube and bottle and what it's post to do?
@GeorgeORRT6 жыл бұрын
Hi Jackie: I have another longer video on liquid oxygen use on my KZbin channel that may provide more information for you regarding these types of liquid oxygen systems. However, if your referring to the tube sticking out of the side of the reservoir and the bottle attached to it, that is used to collect any condensation that might occur at the top of the reservoir when the res is being used to supply oxygen directly to a patient or if portable units are repetitively filled from it. If you live in a warm and humid area, expect lots of condensation to occur on the reservoir and some potentially occur on the portable.

Can a hospital filled my tank before I go home?
@GeorgeORRT6 жыл бұрын
Usually a portable liquid O2 tank/canister can be filled from a liquid reservoir as long as its compatible. Hospitals may or may not fill your portable up before you go depending on the discharge policies. Its best to confirm if your portable is compatible to their system and then find out if they'll fill it.......depending where you live, there might also be a charge too.

Ear protection!? For what
@GeorgeORRT3 жыл бұрын
Because of the loud noise when filling some portables, ear protection is advised for safety.

I think you are a bit overprotective. I do that with nothing. And nothing happens... no I’m not suicidal

We have to do things here with health and safety protocols in place to ensure safe handling of materials in a safe environment.
