Traurig, dass ich gerade sehen muss, dass Calixto Beito nicht nur die Oper "Otello" von Verdi an der Hamburgischen Staatsoper, die ich (leider) live gesehen habe, verhunzt hat (die guten sängerischen Leistungen sind ausdrücklich ausgenommen), sondern auch die Oper "Carmen" im Teatro La Fenice. So sad to see that Calixto Beito has not only ruined Verdi's opera "Otello" at the Hamburgischen Staatsoper, which I (unfortunately) saw live (the good performance of the singers is explicitly excluded), but also the opera "Carmen" at the Teatro La Fenice.

Extremadamente ordinario y vulgar , la escenografía de esta bella ópera. Porqué los jóvenes no han de conocer el original de esta u otra ópera. Además es una gran falta de respeto al compositor. Que lamentable.

Pas fan des adaptations modernes, ce n'est pas cette représentation qui va m'aider à changer d'avis. Je n'ai pas tenu longtemps. Les décors sont réduits à leur plus simple expression (c'est la crise, et on peut comprendre la coupe budgétaire). On aperçoit quand même le Tardis du Doctor Who en train de se dématérialiser (à moins que ce ne soit l'inverses). Quant à la mise en scène, je reste dubitatif, à un moment j'ai cru qu'ils allaient carrément "baiser" sur la voiture ! Carmen est une oeuvre qui peut parfois être provocante, mais jamais vulgaire. C'est Bizet qu'on assassine.

En fait, la discussion sur la façon dont il a été organisé est une perte de temps. Beito l'a fait! Je ne connais que les amateurs d'opéra qui détestent Beito. Il devrait nettoyer les toilettes urbaines, peut-être que l'amateur réussirait.

The singing is OK, but the setting is atrocious. It has noting to do with the composer's original idea. I can cope with modern productions, but not this kind of vulgarity on stage.

When I saw that Calixto Bieto directed this production, I knew that I wouldn't finish to watch this video - and after a few minutes I stopped 😞 I don't dislike all modern opera productions. They can be far more interesting and captivating than strictly old fashioned takes. And especially "Carmen" needs to be looked at from a different angle than 50 years ago. But I have the suspicion that Calixto Bieto doesn't even like operas! His directions completely deconstruct the stories and murders the music! I really don't know why so many opera houses invite him!

Фуууу! Грязные лапы режиссеров с больной психикой дотянулись до оперы. Прям соревнование какое-то: театры разных стран соревнуются, как бы поизощреннее убить оперу. Происходит глобальное переформатирование музыкальной традиции. Даже хорошие голоса не являются оправданием этого дегенеративного культурного процесса. В таком процессе "реформирования" оперы можно дойти до полового акта и дефекации на сцене.

Que fastidiosos son los puristas de la Opera ¿Como se puede pensar que a la juventud le gusta la opera? lol..Entre un Rigoletto y un Despacito se quedan con este último.Por lo menos se está dando un cambio al encartonamiento de los clásicos, con estas puestas en escena,gusten o no ,parezcan ORRIBILE o no..hacíendolas más asequibles al gran público.Son montajes provocadores y cumplen su función.Qué problema tan grande tienen algunos si ven un desnudo...por cierto esta Carmen no sabe bailar y está algo panzeta...Bizet un provocador en su época que murió viendo el fracaso de esta opera,por lo innovadora , quizás hoy gustaria de estos cambios modernos...

I don't have problems with modern productions per se, and often I like them better than old fashioned productions which can be extremely boring. But I have huge problems with Calixto Bieto! He deconstructs the story of the operas and then he kills the music! While a young audience might be bored by a traditional production of "Carmen", I highly doubt that they would like Calixto Bieto's take better! I have a lot of respect for directors who try something new - but I avoid Calixto Bieto's work! When I saw that he directed this "Carmen" I knew that I wouldn't finish the video. However, I gave it a chance. But after 15 minutes I stopped watching 😞

une "soprano/mezzo" à la voix bien ordinaire pour une telle héroïne, ténor à l'unisson et quel physique, Carmen devrait revoir ses lunettes, Escamillo pareil aucun intérêt, Micaella bof, direction d'orchestre en accord avec le casting, mais le meilleur pour la fin. La mise en scène qui se veut moderne, est ringarde, quand aux décors, il y a des décors?

Cette mise en scène avait été créée au Liceu de Barcelone avec, si je me souviens bien, Béatrice Uria-Monzon dans le rôle-titre, ce qui était tout de même autre chose en termes de tessiture et de jeu scénique ( sensualité incluse! 😃). Par rapport à la mise en scène 1° pourquoi les soldats sont-ils en uniforme du Tercio de Estranjeros , avec un puni qui cavale en slip? Pourquoi Micaëla est-elle costumée en ce que les Marseillais appelleraient une cagole, autrement dit une tasspé? Je crains bien que de nombreux metteurs en scène ne veuillent absolument faire de la "distanciation" , comme (autre exemple ) Michael Haneke qui a produit un Don Giovanni situé dans une tour de la Défense , avec Masetto et Zerlinette en techniciens de surface, Don Giovanni en DG de la boîte qui veut absolument dégommer son P-DG ( Le Commandeur) , Leporello en DRH qui lit la liste des Mille e Tre sur son MacBook, et le reste à l'avenant. La "distanciation " est une option de mise en scène brechtienne qui doit être maîtrisée, comme savaient le faire les disciples du grand Bertoldt. N'est pas Bernard Sobel ou Benno Besson qui veut. Votre avis ?
